Around Campus
Congrats!
Congratulations to our Top 3 Teacher of the Year finalists - Ms. Butts, Ms. Elrod, and Ms. Peppers. What a fantastic group of educators!
We are ready to help out Brookwood High School as they compete against Mill Creek in a canned food drive competition... and have a little fun along the way!
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, your child can earn points toward his/her Stable Color by donating canned foods. What a great way to help out our fellow Broncos and community members who are in need at the same time! Thank you in advance for your support.
Please discuss with students the items and behaviors that are NEVER allowed at school. Gwinnett County Public Schools maintains a zero-tolerance policy for weapons, drugs, alcohol, fighting, bullying, threats, intimidation, and terroristic threats.

Technology Guide for Head Elementary Parents
Please review the following guide to help get acquainted with the technology used to communicate, share information, teach, and learn in Gwinnett County Public Schools and Head Elementary.
PBIS Store
We need donations to build a new store for our students - please label items PBIS and drop them off at the front desk. Use the link below for a copy of our wish list on Amazon.
Book Fair (September 3-11)
Easy for families to set up, easy for others to contribute. Book Fair eWallet lets your child shop independently and choose books they want to read. Our Book Fair begins Sept 3 and runs until Sept 11th. You will see that online shopping begins on Aug 27th running until Sept 11th. After the school’s Fair, any unspent funds remain in your Scholastic account for future Fairs. Thank you for your support!
For Curriculum Night this year, we are doing a "flipped" Curriculum Night model. This means you will receive the presentation BEFORE Curriculum Night to watch at your leisure. You will receive three video links the week prior to our Curriculum Night on August 25th. The links will include: your child's teacher's Curriculum Night presentation, introduction videos from our special areas teachers, and a video message from administration and PTA. Please watch all the videos prior to our Curriculum Night. We will use the time at Curriculum Night for an optional drop-in Q&A session. Classroom teachers, special area teachers, gifted teachers, and other support teachers will all be available for you to drop by. This will allow you to see all your child’s teachers within the 5:30-6:30pm time frame. This night will be for all grade levels Pre-K-5. Come by at any time within that window that works for you! We hope this new format will allow you to receive all the information you need to have a successful school year.
Be sure to tell Dogwood Pizza you are with Head Elementary when you order on August 25th. The two classes with the highest attendance will win a class pizza party here at school!
August 28th is our first Color Stables Dress Up Day. Dress head to toe in your stable color and show your stable color pride!
Connecting With the Community
Dr. Alexandra Estrella is committed to listening, learning, and building meaningful relationships across Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS). She believes it is essential to first understand the strengths and opportunities that make GCPS unique.
Throughout her Listening and Learning Tour, Dr. Estrella is visiting schools, meeting with stakeholder groups, and participating in listening sessions throughout Gwinnett County.
