Principal's Message

Welcome Back JETS!
Be Here, Be You, BELONG.
As we begin the 2026-27 school year, that simple message represents something incredibly important to us at Jefferson: we want every student to know they belong here.
We want Jefferson to be a place where students are excited to come to school, where they feel known and valued, and where they are encouraged to be themselves. Every child brings unique strengths, experiences, interests, and ideas to our school community, and those differences make Jefferson a better place to learn and grow.
Our staff is excited to welcome back our returning JETS and to meet the students and families joining Jefferson for the first time. This year, we will continue working to create classrooms and a school community where students feel safe, respected, challenged, and supported. We want our students to be curious, take risks in their learning, build strong relationships, and know there are adults at Jefferson who believe in them.
Families are an important part of that work. We value our partnership with you and want communication between school and home to be open and welcoming. Please introduce yourself, ask questions, share what you want us to know about your child, and connect with us throughout the year. We are on the same team.
I am incredibly excited about the year ahead and all that our students will learn, accomplish, and experience together.
Be yourself. Be curious. Be connected. Be You, and most importantly, BE HERE.

πΈ Student Morning Arrival
πππΆ Student Arrival
We want every JET to have a safe and smooth start to the school day! Students may arrive by walking or riding, family drop-off, or school bus. Our doors open and student supervision begins at 7:30 a.m.
After arriving, students will eat breakfast, then choose the morning option he/she wishes to participate in until the 7:50 bell. At that time, teachers will pick up their classes and head to classrooms to begin the day. Students arriving after the 7:55 tardy bell need to stop by the office for a Welcome Pass before heading to class.
Family Drop-Off
Please refer to the diagram above to help keep our drop-off area safe and moving efficiently. Remember:
Pull all the way forward in the drop-off zone before your child exits the vehicle.
Students should exit from the vehicle while family members remain in the car.
After drop-off, continue forward and exit the area without making a left-hand turn into the park.
If you need to get out of your vehicle or walk your child toward the building, please park and use the designated crosswalk rather than stopping in the drop-off lane.
A little patience goes a long way during our busy morning arrival. Following these procedures helps keep our JETS safe and gets everyone where they need to be on time. Thank you for your help!
π School Bus Information
The Medford School District partners with First Student to provide safe and reliable transportation for students who qualify for bus service. Wondering if your child is eligible to ride the bus? Start by visiting the Bus Eligibility page. Families of eligible students can then use the district's Bus Route Information to locate the appropriate route and stop.
- Please check your child's route again just before the first day of school. Bus routes and stop times may be adjusted as the district prepares for the start of the year.
- Wednesday Early Release: Because school dismisses at 1:00 on Wednesdays, buses depart Jefferson by 1:10 on these days to accommodate our district-wide early-release schedule.
- Kindergarten Families: First Student will only release Kindergarten students if an adult is present at the bus stop. Please make sure you are at the stop at least 5 minutes prior to the scheduled bus drop-off.
We appreciate our families helping students arrive at their bus stops on time and ready for a safe ride to Jefferson!
