School Communication
From this school year onwards, all parent communication should be sent to our dedicated school email address: office@dangannationalschool.ie
The school phone will be monitored between 9:00 am and 2:30 pm each day.
All emails will be received by the school office and passed on to the relevant staff member. Teachers will respond in due course but will not reply during teaching time, in the evenings, late at night, or at weekends. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in respecting these boundaries.
Please ensure that all communication is respectful in tone. Staff will not respond to emails that are threatening or abusive; such correspondence will be referred to the Board of Management.
If contacting the school about a sensitive matter, please note that parents must not name or discuss the children of other families. Any such emails will also be referred to the Board of Management.
The school must be informed in advance of a child being collected early. This can be done via Aladdin Attendance Notes section, click the “My child will be collected early” option. When a child is absent from school, parents must submit an explanation and this can be done through the Aladdin App.
If parents wish to make an appointment to speak to a teacher, they can do so by sending an email to the office or a note in the homework journal.
School Calendar Updates
Please find attached the updated school calendar for the 2025/26 school year.
Following recent Department communication, there will be three additional school closure days for whole-staff professional development. These sessions will focus on Child Protection and the new Primary Curriculum Framework. The updated calendar reflects these changes.
School Fees
The payment for School Requisites for the 2025/26 school year is now due. Many thanks to those who have already made their payment – it is very much appreciated. Payment can be made via the Aladdin app.
School Meals Programme
Once the updated wording is communicated to us, we will be able to proceed to tender. We anticipate that the programme will not be in place until after Christmas
School Policies 2025/2026
Our school policies are currently under review. Once the Board of Management has completed this process, updated copies of the Code of Behaviour, Anti-Bullying Policy, and Child Protection Policy will be emailed to all families. These policies must be read and adhered to.
Parking
In the interest of being able to maximise the amount of collection points in the school for drop off and collection, we would kindly ask that you minimise large gaps when parking in front of or behind other cars as we have limited space available for collection and drop off.
Also, please be mindful of where you are parking when dropping and collecting your child, please do not park up on our neighbours grass or in front of their entrance gates.
Aladdin
If you have any issues logging in or regsitering with the Aladdin app, please contact the office - office@dangannationalschool.ie
Contact Details
Please check that all your child's information is correct on Aladdin, if your phone number or address has changed, please update it as soon as possible.
Permissions
Please update permissions on Aladdin regarding consent for the use of school-related photograph images which may include your child on the school website and/or school facebook page.
Reminder - Please Label Your Child's School Jumper
Allergies
If your child has an allergy or medical condition that you feel the school should be made aware of, please get in contact with us, if you have not done so already.
Birthday Treats
Birthday Treats
If your child is celebrating their birthday and would like to bring in treats for their classmates, please note that these treats will be sent home with each child at the end of the day. Treats from pupils will not be opened in school, this is so that parents can decide if the treats being provided are suitable for their child to eat. Please do not feel obliged to send in treats for the class when it is your child’s birthday!
