UNICORN WEEKLY
Week of November 2, 2026
From the Principal
EVERY CHILD IS A MASTERPIECE IN PROGRESS
Dear Unicorn Families,
It is hard to believe how quickly the weeks are flying by! So many wonderful things have been happening on our campus. I absolutely loved seeing all of the creative costumes during our annual Word Parade. Our students did an amazing job selecting and creating words to describe their costumes, and it was exciting to see their creativity and love of learning on display. We also had a fantastic Red Ribbon Spirit Week, with students and staff showing their commitment to making healthy choices and living drug-free.
As we look ahead, please remember that November 2nd and 3rd are student holidays. We hope our families enjoy the extended break. When students return, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will participate in their RLA Interim Assessment on November 9th and their Math Interim Assessment on November 16th. Please note that both assessment days will be closed campus days to provide students with the best possible testing environment.
Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, and success together! 💙💛
Have a wonderful weekend! 📚🎉💙
Warm regards,

Hi Families!
I am wrapping up my Bullying Prevention lessons for all Kinder - 5th grade students. I have also read these three books with students. These books take the perspective of the bully, victim, and bystander of the same story. The books helped facilitate great conversations about what to do if a student knows bullying is happening. Talk with your students about reporting bullying to a caring adult and ask them how they can help if they are a bystander to bullying.

Using Kind Words
If you would like to reinforce the lessons on Using Kind Words we recommend 4 popular kids books that could lead to great discussions. These could also probably be found on utube as well Stand Tall, Molly Lou Mellon by Lovell, The Recess Queen by O'Neill, Being Frank by Earnhardt, and Words and Your Heart by Neal. Some Sample Qs: Which of the characters in the story want to be our friend? Which of them weren't the nicest friends? why? What are some of the things they said or did that wasn't very nice?
The Goal: Words can make our heart feel happy or sad. We have to be careful not to use word's that hurt other people's feelings. A coffee filter keeps the grounds out and lets just the liquid in that adults like to drink. Our brain acts as our filter.
