Family Update
Davis Middle School
May 29, 2026
Happy Final Friday of the 25-26 School Year!
This has been an amazing year and we thank you for sharing your students with us. Our students have grown in so many ways this year. We are beaming with pride for our students' achievements, whether in the classroom, on the stage, on the field or court, they continue to make us so proud. They all represent Davis and your family so well. Thank you for your support of your students and for us!
To our 8th grade families that are moving on to Scioto, we wish you all the best of luck. We can't wait to see the amazing things your students do with the next four years. Remind them to embrace all the opportunities coming their way, as we all know, it goes so fast.
There is a bit of information below that leads into summer but please watch out for periodic emails from me over the summer that will include back to school information. Those will start later in July.
Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our exceptional team of educators and staff members at Davis for their tireless efforts, creativity, and unwavering dedication to our students' success. Their passion for teaching and their commitment to providing a nurturing environment have positively impacted the lives of our students in countless ways. I am truly grateful to serve as your principal and be a part of this incredible team of educators and of this amazing school community.
I wish you all a wonderful summer filled with quality time and great memories made!
Go Irish!
Jaime

New School Hours for 2026-27 School Year (Elementary & High School Only)
Dublin City Schools will adjust elementary and high school start and dismissal times for the 2026-27 school year. Middle school times will remain the same. These updates are intended to improve transportation reliability, maintain consistent instructional time, and create a more efficient district-wide schedule. The added time between bus routes is expected to reduce delays and improve on-time performance. The earlier high school schedule will also better support students attending Tolles Career & Technical Center by allowing more time for travel, instruction, and lunch.
New School Hours
Elementary: 9:15 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Middle: 8:28 a.m. – 3:08 p.m. (no change)

8th Grade Washington, DC Trip - May 2027
7th Grade Families,
Mark your calendars now for our 8th Grade Washington, DC trip May 11-14, 2027. We do not have the final trip details from Prodigy yet, but for planning purposes it is important to note that this year's trip cost was $950. We encourage students to take part in raising money to help out. Mowing lawns, pulling weeds, etc. are all great ways to help out this summer. The fall will bring lots of leaves to rake and the winter will bring snow to shovel.
We will have an informational meeting on August 26 following Open House.
Stay tuned for more details.
Davis Library Info
Books
Families of students who still have library books will receive a letter next week informing them of the books that have not been returned. Instructions for how to proceed are included in the letter. Thank you for your support of the Davis library!
Chromebooks
Any 8th grade Chromebooks that were not returned (with the exception of those belonging to students who are enrolled in summer courses) must be dropped off as soon as possible to Emerald Campus (5175 Emerald Parkway, Dublin, OH). Chromebooks can no longer be dropped off at Davis Middle School.
Please visit the Davis library website for any information you may need over the summer about library books, Chromebooks, Dublin City Schools summer reading, and Davis Middle School's Flat Irish Reading Adventures
Flat Irish Summer Reading Adventures!
Flat Irish is the new Davis summer reading mascot! All Davis students received a Flat Irish bookmark in their language arts classes, and we'd love to see what reading adventures Flat Irish takes this summer. Any time Davis students or staff are reading this summer, they can send us a photo of the book with the Flat Irish bookmark and tell us a general location where they are reading (if the bookmark is lost, we would still love to receive a photo of the book!). We will pin the photo on our Flat Irish Google Map. Check out our Google Map throughout the summer to see what and where Davis students and staff are reading! Students who submit photos will be eligible to win prizes like a Barnes and Noble gift card and brand new books. Let's keep the Davis reading momentum going over the summer with Flat Irish Reading Adventures!
Counseling Corner
MOVING OVER THE SUMMER?
If you are moving and withdrawing your student please contact our Guidance Secretary, Laura Frazee, at frazee_laura@dublinschools.net or 614-718-8613. Per the Middle School Student Handbook, a withdrawal form must be picked up in the Guidance Department at least three days prior to withdrawal. This is especially important as we near the end of the school year so that we have enough time to forward your student's cumulative records to their new school. Thank you!
Summer Food Assistance
There is a program in Ohio that helps families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer months. If you need assistance, check out this link to learn if you qualify: https://ohiosummerebt.org/

Summer & Fall Sports Schedules
Summer is almost here, and that means Summer sports workouts! All of the Davis sports summer conditioning schedules were posted on Monday, May 11, on the Athletic Website. There you will find a posting for each Fall sport that will be conducting optional conditioning over the Summer. You will also find the open gym dates for volleyball, open nets for tennis, and tryout dates and times for all of our Fall Sports. ( Football, Cheer, Volleyball, Cross Country, Girls Tennis, Golf)
Final Forms Registration for Summer and Fall 2026 - The "window" for open registration for Final Forms will open district-wide on Monday, June 1, 2026. No new accounts or sports registrations can take place until it is opened by the district. DCS is working with Final Forms to help make the registration and account creation process much easier moving forward.
Sports Physicals - This is a reminder that all athletes must have a current physical in the Athletic Office PRIOR to any participation in summer conditioning, open gyms, and tryouts. Physicals must be completed using the Ohio High School Athletic Association
(OHSAA) physical form only. This form can be downloaded from the Davis Athletic website or the OHSAA website. Physicals from last sports season are good for 13 months and do carry over with a valid date into the next school year.

Spring State Test Results
Ohio State Test results for students in grades 3-8 and End-of-Course assessments for high school students in six state-tested subjects are now available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Detailed information about locating the state test results in the parent portal and overviews of these assessments can be found on the district website under the Testing and Assessment tab at this link.
OELPA: Students identified as English Learners were also administered the Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment (OELPA) this spring. These results can also be found in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Parent Resources:
If you prefer a paper copy of your child's state test results, complete this form.
MAP Assessment Data
The MAP assessments allow us to measure student achievement and academic growth over time. Students participate in the MAP Reading and MAP Math assessments during designated benchmark windows throughout the year (Reading: Grades 2-8, Math: Grades 1-8). The MAP 2-5 and MAP 6+ assessments allow us to identify students as gifted in the areas of math and/or reading. MAP scores in the 95th-99th percentile meet the Ohio Department of Education requirements for gifted identification. Students scoring in the range for a gifted identification on the MAP assessment will be supported in their regular classroom setting through high-quality, differentiated instruction. Spring MAP results are now visible to parents in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Additional information about MAP can be found here.
