• Kinder/1st Grade students are doing great at finding their classrooms and how they get home. Students will leave lanyards at school.

• We are still working to get a few of the menu items so there are some minor lunch changes for this week: Monday: #1 Grilled Cheese (kinder) and #2 Chicken Tenders. Thursday: #1 Pizza Boli #2- Burrito (kinder). Thank you for understanding.

• We teach students how to properly care for their devices; however, students are responsible for any damage that may occur. Technology insurance can be purchased online here. Purchasing insurance is optional, but it can provide peace of mind when accidents happen!

• All students in grades K–5 will use a Chromebook at some point during the school year. Families have the option to purchase Technology Insurance to help cover accidental damage.

• We sent home the Young Handbook/Frequently Asked Questions (see link below) signature page. Please sign and return to the office if you haven't already.
• We already have things in the Lost and Found. Be sure to put your child's name on their water bottles, lunch box, and jackets so we can get it back to them.
• Make sure you sign up for your child's Class Dojo account for teacher communication. Note: The Class Dojo that we use is all free. You do not need a paid version to communicate with the teacher or receive messages. Thanks

We will have our first PTA meeting on Tuesday, September 8th at 8:00 in the library.

We are excited to offer families the opportunity to celebrate their child’s birthday by displaying a Happy Birthday on our outdoor digital sign! Order now so you don't forget!

• The happy birthday will be displayed during your child’s birthday week for $10. Complete the digital form AND then pay and the Happy Birthday message will be displayed.

• The earlier, the better! Sign up now and we'll have your child's name on the calendar & their Happy Birthday message ready to go.

• We are not here over long breaks or on the weekend. Please enter birthdays in advance if you want them displayed on your child's special day.

• Please note: Birthday treats may NOT be brought to school to share with classmates. We invite families to celebrate their child with a birthday message on our outdoor digital sign instead!

We have an exciting opportunity as part of our School of Conservation Leadership Status. Does your child enjoy archery and are they interested in competing in a regional tournament? The Hunt Ozark Highlands Nature Center archery center is open to the public every Saturday (except 8/29, 9/12) for practice and instruction in archery. Parents can take their child to these open times. Mrs. Dickard, our Science Interventionist, will be at Hunt Nature Center( 400 N 40th St, Springdale, AR 72762 ) on Saturday, Sept. 19th at 10:00 am to help and see if any of our students are interested in the regional competition on Tuesday, Oct 6! Email Mrs. Dickard at jdickard@ sdale.org for more information. We will be enter three Young Elementary Students into the competition.
