On Tuesday, August 29th, the Junior Varsity Volleyball team competed against Almont. Although the Cardinals gave it a good fight, the Raiders won all three sets. The scores were 14-25, 7-25, and 15-25. Some game highlights include Karlie Harris with one dig and McKinley Gammon with two, Brianna Snavely with one assist, and Mallory Barker and McKinley Gammon with one kill and block each. Dryden traveled to Brown City on Thursday, August 31 and came away with a 66-0 loss. "It was a rough game against a tough opponent," reflected Coach Hunter Gall. "This was a big learning game for everyone, and it's time to go back to the drawing board and correct the mistakes we made throughout the game. We are a young and inexperienced team. I am confident we will learn from this game, and use it as a tool to improve."

Offensively, Gianni Coscione had 14 carries for 3 yards, went 5 for 13 passing for 31 yards, and had one interception. Santiago Perales added 5 carries for 12 yards. Receptions were led by Sonny Coscione with 5 for 22 yards, followed by Luke Taylor with one for 9 yards.

On the other side of the ball, Santiago Perales led the team with 6 solo tackles and 3 assists. Gianni Coscione and Josh Harris added 4 solo tackles each with 3 and 6 assists, respectively. Adding 3 solos and 3 assists was Sonny Coscione. David Insley (2 solo, 4 assists) and Brandon Woolner (2 solo, 5 assists) finished the defensive attack for the Cardinals.

Dryden faces Deckerville in an away game on Friday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m.
