KUDOS
Congratulations, Fox Friday Winners!
Congratulations go out to the following students Marcello, Kay and Nora, and our staff member Mr. Miller for being chosen as this week's Fox Friday winners! Thank you for demonstrating the characteristics of the Fox Four and for being such great role models!! We are proud of you!
Thank You!
An update to the Powerlifters need for new records boards is that their donation drive was a success and the team will be receiving two new boards as their current record boards are outdated and show only our past lifters who competed in the "equipped" divisions. With the new boards, lifters will be able to show pride to those who competed equipped as well as those more recent lifters who have set records in the raw divisions. This could not have happened without the generous donations they received. The powerlifting team and their coaches extend a very sincere "Thank you!"
Shopping Day With Kids A Success!
The 2025 Shopping Day With Kids event was a huge success! Approximately 35 high school students were paired up with 35 elementary students to shop for needed items such as winter jackets, hats, and gloves along with special toys. The day began with a bus ride to Target where students shopped together for needed and wanted items. High school students had the experience communicating with elementary-aged students and had to work within a budget to get the most items for the donated amount allotted for each student.
Students returned to OES to wrap gifts, collect donated items from a local church, and items the high school students made along with the Fab Lab and local pizza was provided students and volunteers. Fun was had by all! You could see all of the students having fun with one another by playing such games as: Rock/Paper/Scissors, Tic-Tac-Toe on the bus windows, talking about the best Christmas movies, and playing Patty-Cake games, and more.
This 30 + year tradition is one that truly makes the lives of our students (volunteers and the little ones) better.
Bake Shop Unit
Students in Mrs. Morse's Advanced Culinary Arts class are in the middle of their Bake Shop Unit. To learn more about cakes and decorating, they participated in a Cupcake Wars Competition. Based upon each team's chosen theme, they baked and decorated 12 cupcakes to set on a self-created display. Each display was judged by OHS Staff. The team earning the honor of "Cupcake Wars Champions" were the team of Jayden and Blake who created "Fox Sports Academy"-- a carrot cake cupcake and topped with cream cheese frosting.
Criminal Justice Field Trip to FVTC
Students in FVTC dual credit Criminal Justice Systems class had the opportunity to visit the FVTC Public Safety Training Center. They rotated between stations that included: Tour of the facility, Forensic science (fingerprinting), MILO (police scenario simulator), and Virtual Reality taser simulator.
Youth Apprenticeship Participation
Congratulations to OHS for surpassing the Youth Apprenticeship (YA) goal for the 2025-2026 school year!
The YA program is 33 students strong with growing interest among students. CESA 6 shared, “This is a testament of your commitment to providing meaningful career exploration opportunities for students.”
