Letter From the Directors
Hello PCK Community,
If you haven’t already, we encourage you to support PCK by submitting a nomination in Colorado Parent Magazine’s annual Family Favorites awards. PCK is eligible in the following categories:
Favorite Charter Elementary School - Parker Core Knowledge
Favorite Charter Middle School - Parker Core Knowledge
Favorite Charter Elementary School Principal - Breanna Warburton
Favorite Charter Middle School Principal - Stephanie Harper
Nominations are open through Friday, May 15, and the process takes just a minute. Simply click the button below, select the “Schooled” category, confirm your email address, and enter Parker Core Knowledge as your nomination. You can vote once per day through the deadline.
Participating in these awards is more than just recognition, it’s an opportunity to showcase the strength of our school community, the quality of our curriculum, and the achievements of our students and staff. Being included helps elevate PCK’s reputation as a school of excellence across Colorado and ensures that more families learn about the outstanding educational opportunities available here.
Most importantly, your nomination helps share the story of what makes PCK special. If our school has made a positive impact on your student’s education, we would be grateful for your support.
Warmly,
Dr. Weyman
Breanna Warburton
Stephanie Harper
Spotlight
For this week’s spotlight, we’re excited to share a special video created during this past weekend’s Palooza & Auction hosted by the Foundation. In the video, students highlight their favorite parts of PCK and share what they hope to see added in the future.
Many students spoke about how their teachers make learning fun, how much they value the PCK curriculum, and how they genuinely enjoy coming to school each day. When it comes to the future, their ideas were just as enthusiastic, ranging from a fast food restaurant to go-karts for getting between classes.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Palooza & Auction and helped raise important funds for our school. Your support plays a vital role in enhancing the classroom experience for all students. Just as importantly, your involvement helps foster the kind of engaged, one of a kind parent community that makes PCK so special.
Field Trip
This week, our 4th grade students had the exciting opportunity to visit the Colorado State Capitol and the Judicial Center in downtown Denver!
During their tour of the State Capitol, students observed both the Senate and House of Representatives in session and listened as legislators voted on bills under consideration. They also learned about the building’s history and even climbed to the top, where they stepped into the rotunda dome for an incredible view.
At the Judicial Center, students heard from Colorado Supreme Court Justice Carlos Samour Jr., who shared his journey to becoming a justice, as well as his path to the United States from El Salvador. They also explored the Interactive Learning Center, where they learned about the history of law and took on the roles of judges and jurors in mock trials.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make this field trip possible!
Science
We’re excited to welcome five new friends to the PCK family! As part of the kindergarten and 2nd grade life cycle studies, eggs were incubated in the PCK Science Lab until they hatched.
Students closely observed each stage of the process, from incubation to hatching, and enjoyed watching the chicks grow. Along the way, they saw firsthand how the chicks changed, from newly hatched fluff to the beginnings of their full feathers.
You can view the full list of names for each chick below.
Apollo - Apollo was named to give recognition to the many scientific achievements made from the Apollo space program. One of the biggest ones being that Apollo 11 took humans and landed on the moon!
Opportunity - Opportunity was named to give recognition to the little rover that could. This Mars rover was only supposed to last for 90 days but ended up helping scientists for over 15 years (5,479 days)!
Gallaudet - This little chick was named to give recognition to the Gallaudet 11. When the United States was in the space race and needed to know how humans would react to zero gravity, they looked to 11 men. These men were deaf, which made them the perfect test subjects since they were unaffected by motion sickness. These men have some serious superpowers!
Artemis - Artemis was named to give recognition to the Artemis II mission that was recently completed. On this mission astronauts flew around the moon, a feat that had not been completed in decades, inspiring a generation of future astronauts!
Mercury-Redstone - This chick was named after the Mecury-Redstone 3, the first human space flight from 1961. How far we have come!

This gift can be applied at checkout using a unique code, which will be sent to your family in June. The code will be valid from June through September and can be combined with other promotions, including back-to-school sales.
Please watch for additional details about this offer in upcoming communications. In the meantime, you can explore available uniform options from Tommy Hilfiger using the button below.

Teacher Appreciation Week Update: Thank You, PCK Families!
We are nearing the end of Teacher Appreciation Week, and the love and support from our community has been incredible—thank you, PCK families!
From Monday’s warm welcome and dirty soda bar, to Tuesday’s meaningful “Give Life, Give Thanks” lunch, and Wednesday’s thoughtful meals provided by our Classroom Coordinators, this week has been a beautiful reminder of what makes PCK so special.
One of the most meaningful parts of the week has been watching the “You Are the Heartbeat of PCK” display come to life.
Each day, more hearts have been added—filled with kind words, encouragement, and gratitude from students and families! Seeing this bulletin board grow has been incredibly impactful for our teachers and staff, and a powerful reflection of the appreciation across our community.
Still to Come
We’re looking forward to finishing the week strong with:
- A special “Teaching is a Work of Heart” activity happened earlier today (Flower Truck!)
- Tomorrow’s Children’s Hospital Blood Drive and in-service appreciation gift & breakfast. If you would like to sign-up, you can do so by clicking the button below.

The 2025-26 PCK Parent Satisfaction Survey for the is now open and will be available through Sunday, May 10 at 4:00 p.m.
Each year, this anonymous survey gives us the opportunity to reflect on what’s working well and identify areas where we can continue to grow as a school community. Your feedback is especially valuable as we work to improve fundraising efforts and strengthen communication between families and school organizations. While the survey includes a variety of questions, none are required. Every voice matters, and your perspective helps shape the future of PCK.
We will review the results at our meeting on Wednesday, May 13, and look forward to using your insights to support and strengthen our school community.
Volunteer Spotlight
For this week’s Volunteer Spotlight, we’re proud to recognize Rachel Larson for her outstanding contributions.
This week, our 4th grade students had a unique opportunity to take part in an expanded learning experience with a visit to the Colorado Judicial Center, where they heard directly from a Colorado Supreme Court Justice. Rachel played a key role in arranging this experience, giving students the chance to ask questions and deepen their understanding of the Colorado justice system as an enriching addition to their visit to the Colorado State Capitol.
Rachel went above and beyond to make this opportunity possible, creating a truly memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students. Thank you, Rachel, for your dedication and for being such a valued member of our community.
