Wow! This was a super busy week! With WASC and Valentine's Day, I'm surprised we got in as much as we did! I'm super proud of this group in persevering through this week - five days in four! With that said, our visiting WASC committee had nothing but great things to say of our school community. I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of it with all of you. Thank you and your children, for making this community what it is.
Thank you to Dayna, Holly, and all parent volunteers for making our Valentine's Day celebration super special! What a fun treat!
In Reading this week, we studied free verse and lyric poetry, focusing on a poem called Words Free Like Confetti, where words were compared to colors, and paralleled to the emotions they bring. In Math, we started our topic on dividing fractions, and we learned the most important part today: DIVIDING BY A FRACTION IS THE SAME AS MULTIPLYING BY THE RECIPROCAL! This will be hard wired by the time we finish this topic! In Science, we looked at food webs, and hypothesized what made the dinosaurs go extinct, as well as challenged our thinking to identify animals that survived that time. In Social Studies, we continued with our State Report, finishing our last research chapter, and also taking a look at how the Revolutionary War first began. In Religion, we celebrated mass, and worked on our Stations of the Cross posters, which will be on display for our school Stations of the Cross on Friday, February 27.
Driver's Needed!
As of now, I only have two drivers for our field trip on February 25 to Arroyo Burro. Please let me know if you are able to help out! We need at least four more drivers to make this trip happen. Thank you!
