Week Twelve Notes
As we head into Thanksgiving Break next week, I want to take a moment to share my gratitude for our wonderful students, families, and staff. This time of year reminds us how important it is to pause, reflect, and appreciate the community we are so fortunate to be part of here at DES. We hope your break is filled with rest, laughter, and time with loved ones. We look forward to welcoming our students back refreshed and ready for a great finish to the fall season!
With Viking Pride,
Mrs. Love

Otis Spunkmeyer Fundraiser
Thanks so much for your generous support of our school fundraiser! We will utilize these funds all year long to supplement projects in classrooms, purchase books for classroom libraries and fund assemblies for students to enjoy.
Items will be delivered to the school on Monday, December 15th and must be picked up at the Adams Street entrance near the APR starting at 11:30 am. Please make arrangements to pick up that day by 4:00 pm as we will not hold items or send large boxes on the bus with students.
Those who earn the limo ride and pizza will take cash in on their prize on December 15th during lunch time.
Infinite Campus Parent Portal Instructions

Dundee Community Schools has provided you with the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. The Infinite Campus Parent Portal allows you to have real-time access to announcements, attendance, report cards and more. We would like every parent to have access to this tool as all report cards will now be here. No paper copies will be sent home unless requested. Below is a link to create and activate your Campus Parent account.

Activation Key - (found on parent’s summary page, Person GUID)
When creating your Campus Parent portal account, please keep in mind the following:
• Each parent/guardian should have their own separate portal account. It is not recommended to share an account. • Do not share your account information with your student. Each student has their own unique Campus Student portal account.
• Create your own unique username. Please DO NOT use your student's ID number or network login.
• Enter a password until at least the indicator for the password turns green and says 100%.
• Please know that there is an app available for Infinite Campus in the Apple App and Google Play stores.
• Please bookmark this site for easy access https://dundeemi.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/dundee.jsp

The AP Connection
Viking Value of the Trimester: RESPECT
At Dundee Elementary, we’re dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels safe and cared for. Lately, we’ve noticed that most of our student referrals involve physical contact—things like pushing, shoving, or not giving each other enough personal space. We’d really appreciate your help as we work together to teach our kids about healthy boundaries and positive ways to interact. At home, you might talk with your child about why it’s important to keep their hands to themselves, show them how to resolve conflicts respectfully, or even role-play how to ask before giving a high-five or hug.
We also love to celebrate our students’ great choices! This month, our PBIS winners enjoyed a special breakfast of donuts and chocolate milk—a fun way to recognize their positive behavior. Next month, we’re looking forward to an extra recess as our reward, giving students another chance to play, connect, and enjoy their hard work. Thank you for supporting our efforts to make school a positive and rewarding experience for everyone!
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me at jay.briggs@dundeeschools.org or by calling (734)-529-2350 EXT. 12005

Mental Health Matters
As we move into November, it’s a wonderful time to help kids slow down and notice the good things around them. Practicing gratitude—like sharing one thing they’re thankful for each day—can build positive thinking and strengthen family connections. Simple moments, like enjoying a cozy breakfast together or talking about a favorite part of the day, help children feel calm, supported, and loved.
Here are a few easy ways to nurture gratitude and well-being at home this month:
🧡 Gratitude Jar: Keep a jar on the table where everyone can drop in notes about something good that happened. Read them together at the end of the month.
🌦️ Thankful Walks: Take a short walk as a family and name things you appreciate—like crunchy leaves, friendly neighbors, or a beautiful sunset.
✨ Kindness Counts: Encourage kids to do one small kind act each day—like sharing a toy, helping a friend, or saying “thank you.”
💤 Rest and Routine: With daylight changing and schedules shifting, make sure kids get enough sleep and keep a consistent bedtime routine.
🗣️ Feelings Check-In: Ask, “What was something that made you smile today?” or “Was there anything that felt tricky?” This helps children build emotional awareness.
This month, let’s remind our kids (and ourselves) that gratitude grows when we take time to notice and celebrate life’s little moments. 💛
Please remember that we have the backpack program and a list of other resources available to those that may be struggling with food insecurity or in need of holiday help.

Food Service Updates
Dundee Community Schools are pleased to share that the State budget passed includes funding for the Universal School Meals program. As a result, all Dundee students will receive complimentary breakfast and lunch for the entire 2025-2026 school year.
It is still very important to complete the free and reduced application forms in your back to school paperwork, regardless of your qualification status. This application process is essential for the district as it helps secure vital funding from the state and federal sources. Regardless of your income, please fill out this application.
