Student Support Services Updates

Future Readiness Skills

As part of CSD's ongoing implementation of Future Readiness Skills (FRS), the Student Support Services department is partnering with HealthMPowers on a year-long initiative to promote lifelong healthy habits for all CSD students and staff. HealthMPowers is supporting CSD with training, physical health equipment, sensory tools, and instructional activity kits.

School staff designated as HealthMPowers Adult Champions recently completed virtual training sessions to learn how to integrate health advocacy and FRS into school clubs and mentoring programs. Some students will also participate in the Student Health Advocate (SHA) program to learn how to help peers build sustainable, healthy lifestyle habits.

ESOL and Federal Programs
The CSD ESOL and Federal Programs Department hosted its annual Fall Family Fun Night, offering families an opportunity to connect with staff and other families. Face painting, pumpkin decorating, and games provided students with opportunities to create, play, and celebrate together.

Always wear a properly fitted helmet, follow traffic laws, ride predictably, and stay alert for cars, pedestrians, and other cyclists. Parents should talk with their children about safe riding practices, choosing appropriate routes, and understanding how their e-bike operates before heading out. A little preparation can help everyone share the road safely!
