A GREat First Week at Glacier Ridge Elementary

We’ve had a wonderful start to the school year at Glacier Ridge!

Classrooms have been full of energy as students focus on building classroom community, learning routines, practicing procedures, and getting to know one another. It’s been exciting to see relationships forming and positive learning environments taking shape.

One of the key themes students have been learning about is our school motto: Choose Kind. In all of our classrooms, we teach students about kindness, empathy, and that we each have a responsibility and choice for how we treat others.

You may also hear your child talking about PAX. PAX (which means peace in Latin) helps guide positive behavior and classroom culture. As part of this framework, students worked together to create a PAX Vision for their classrooms—similar to a class promise—that outlines what they want their learning environment to feel, sound, and look like. They are also beginning to explore what it means to be a PAX Leader.

We look forward to sharing more about PAX and how it supports our school-wide expectations in future newsletters.

Late Check in and Early Check out Procedures

At Glacier Ridge, the safety and security of our students is our top priority. We have several procedures in place to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. Please take a moment to review our check-in and check-out protocols below:

Late Drop-Off

If your child arrives after 9:10 AM:

  • A parent/guardian must accompany the student into the building.

  • Report to the main office (Door 1).

  • Use the computer in the vestibule to sign your child in.

Early Pick-Up

If you need to pick up your child before dismissal:

  1. Report early pick-up intention in Infinite Campus.

  2. Report to the main office (Door 1).

  3. Ring the bell and be prepared to: Share your name, purpose of your visit, child's name and teacher.

  4. Use the computer in the vestibule to sign your child out.

  5. Be ready to show your ID. We will consistently enforce this practice and will only release students to parents/guardians.

  6. If anyone other than a parent/guardian is picking up your child, please email gres_attendance@dublinschools.net . This also applies to individuals listed on your emergency contacts in Infinite Campus if it is a mid-day pick up.

Thank you for your understanding and support in following these safety procedures. Together, we help keep Glacier Ridge a safe place for all students to learn and grow.
