September 14, 2025

Dear Dryden Families,
As we settle into the heart of the school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on some of the meaningful events that have brought our community together this week.
.
First, a heartfelt thank you to our music teacher Mr. Toerner for his leadership in organizing our Patriot Day remembrance on September 11. His thoughtful coordination of the ceremony helped us all pause and honor the lives lost on that tragic day. I am equally grateful to our families, students, and staff who gathered in solidarity, demonstrating the strength and unity of our Dryden community. Your presence and reverence truly made this a powerful moment of reflection and remembrance.
I also want to extend sincere appreciation to Ms. Kovacic for her outstanding efforts in planning and running the Hook-a-Book event in our LMC during Curriculum Night. Thanks to her creativity and dedication, we raised over $1,400; funds that will go directly toward new books and programs to enrich our students’ learning experiences in the library. A special thank you goes out to our amazing 5th grade student volunteers who gave their time and energy that evening. Your enthusiasm and hard work made the event a success and showed the best of what it means to be a Dryden Dolphin.
Thank you all for continuing to support one another and making Dryden such a vibrant and caring school community.
Warm regards,
Jessica Martinsen

MAP Testing | September 11–18, 2025
All Dryden students will take part in the district MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessments between September 11 and 18, 2025. Classroom teachers will share specific testing dates and times.
MAP is a computer-based, adaptive multiple-choice test in reading and math. The difficulty of questions adjusts based on each student’s responses, providing a personalized assessment experience. Both assessments together take approximately 1–2 hours to complete.
For more information about district and state assessments, click here.
To help students feel prepared and confident, we recommend ensuring they get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and receive positive encouragement at home.
When can families/the community use the playground?
The playground, blacktop, and fields are closed to families and the public during school hours (8:50 a.m.—3:35 p.m). At 4:00 p.m., our after-school CAP program utilizes the playground and blacktop area. As a result, other students and community members should not use the school's outdoor play areas until CAP is finished using them at 5:00 p.m. Families are welcome to use smaller playground that is just south of the school parking lot on Dryden Place during this time.
