Inspiring Purpose, Compassion & Excellence
SPOOKY SELFIES
Students are fully embracing the Halloween spirit in art class! They recently learned about the unique style of animator, director, writer, producer, and illustrator Tim Burton. Inspired by his imaginative and slightly spooky aesthetic, students applied their creativity and practiced key drawing skills—such as using value to add depth and dimension—to create self-portraits in the style of Tim Burton. The results are wonderfully expressive and a perfect blend of art, imagination, and Halloween fun!
We can’t wait for you to see these creative masterpieces that capture both each child’s individuality and Burton’s iconic flair.
LEGACY FIELD TRIPS
Gold Rush is thrilled to partner with our incredible PTO to ensure that every grade level has the opportunity to take a field trip this year! We know field trips are a vital part of a child’s early educational experience. Students’ excitement and curiosity as they explore the world beyond the classroom also makes these moments truly special.
In past years, Gold Rush was only able to subsidize field trips for fourth and fifth graders due to the high cost of outside transportation. As you may know, the District is limited to using school buses only for transportation to and from school, which requires schools to contract with outside bus services for field trips—an expense that adds up quickly.
This year, thanks to the support and partnership of our PTO, students in all grade levels will enjoy learning experiences outside the building.
Kindergartners kicked off the season with a visit to a pumpkin patch in Lone Tree Friday! They were thrilled to see their science standards on weather and the seasons come to life—and of course, riding the bus was a highlight of the day!
Second graders will head to the Science and Nature Museum later this month, where they will explore hands-on exhibits and make exciting scientific connections.
Fourth graders are preparing for their big trip to Young Ameritown in December, where they’ll learn about economics, teamwork, and community in an engaging, real-world environment.
First & Third graders are looking forward to field trips this spring.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the PTO for making these experiences possible and to our wonderful parent volunteers who help make each trip a success. Together, we are building lasting memories and inspiring a lifelong love of learning for our students!
HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES COMING SOON!
Students are excited to celebrate Halloween as a school community next week! On Friday, October 31, students are welcome to start their day in their costumes. They will enjoy a class party with their teacher and parent volunteers. Please see classroom communication for party donations and an opportunity to volunteer as a party coordinator.
All families are welcome to attend our outdoor parade (weather permitting). We will have one school parade at 8:50 am.
We encourage students to be creative with their costumes, but safety remains our number one priority. Please ensure that students have a costume that fits over their clothing. Students will be asked to change out of their costumes independently at 10:15 AM when our regular school day will resume. Please note face paint, masks and weapons are not permitted.
We are looking forward to the festivities!
HONORING VETERANS & THOSE SERVING
Gold Rush Elementary is incredibly proud of those who serve our country. We are excited to invite active and retired military to a special assembly on November 11 at 9:45 AM. This is a wonderful opportunity to show our appreciation for their service and sacrifice.
We warmly welcome participants to join their Gold Rush student for coffee and doughnuts between 9:15 AM - 9:30 AM in the cafeteria. Due to limited capacity, we are specifically inviting Veterans and active military members. If you or someone you know would like to attend, please click here to RSVP by November 4.
We look forward to coming together to honor and celebrate our heroes!
