Spartan Strong, Spartan Proud: Together We Rise!
The Start of Something New- 2nd Quarter!
Spartan Families,
As we begin the 2nd Quarter Grading Period, I want to thank our students, families, and staff for a strong start to the school year. The second grading period provides an opportunity for every student to reflect on their progress, celebrate successes, and set new goals for continued growth.
Academic success begins with consistent effort, organization, and a commitment to learning each day. I encourage students to:
- Review grades regularly through the student and parent portal.
- Complete assignments on time and seek help when needed.
- Utilize tutoring, academic support sessions, and teacher office hours.
- Maintain an organized planner or digital calendar to track deadlines and assessments.
- Study consistently rather than waiting until the last minute to prepare for tests and quizzes.
- Communicate with teachers when questions or concerns arise.
Parents and guardians play a critical role in student success. We encourage families to monitor academic progress, discuss school goals at home, and maintain open communication with teachers and school staff.
Equally important is daily attendance. Every instructional minute matters, and students who attend school consistently are better positioned to stay engaged, master course content, and achieve their academic goals. Please make every effort to ensure students arrive on time, attend each class, and provide documentation when absences are unavoidable.
As members of our school community, students are also expected to demonstrate positive behavior by:
- Showing respect for themselves, others, and school property.
- Following classroom and campus expectations.
- Making responsible decisions.
- Contributing to a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Demonstrating integrity, accountability, and good citizenship.
Remember that success is built through positive choices, perseverance, and a strong commitment to excellence. Every day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and move closer to your academic and personal goals.
Let us work together to make the 2nd Grading Period our best yet. We believe in every student's ability to succeed and are committed to supporting them every step of the way.
Let’s continue to work together to make this an incredible year of growth, learning, and achievement for every Spartan.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Culpepper
Spoto High School Principal

Focus Parent Portal
Parents and guardians will continue to access Canvas for current class grades, assignments, and communication with teachers. Focus will sync parent accounts from Focus to Canvas within 24 hours of creation. Parents will use the same email to login to Canvas but must set a password before logging in the first time. To set a Canvas password, please access the Canvas Reset Password page.
In short, Canvas is the day-to-day hub for instruction. Teachers can post assignments, quizzes, and class discussions while integrating curriculum resources and academic tools. Teachers may provide valuable assignment feedback that is viewable by both students and parents. Students and parents can also respond to feedback directly in Canvas. Canvas Parent accounts can be created 24 hours after activating Focus.
Focus is used by schools for enrollment, scheduling, attendance, transcripts, final grade reporting, and certain other student information. Parents will be able to view report cards, attendance, class schedules, course history, test history, and some student information as appropriate.
