West Bridgewater District June 2025 Newsletter

Hello WB Students, Staff, and Families,

We’ve reached the end of the 2024–2025 school year! I want to thank all of our students, staff, and families for making this a successful and memorable year. Your hard work, dedication, and support have helped create a positive learning environment where our students can thrive.

As we head into summer, I hope each of you takes the time to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with friends and loved ones. May your days be filled with fun, laughter, and lasting memories.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in late August, refreshed and ready for another great school year. Please keep an eye on our website and school communications later this summer for important back-to-school information. Have a safe and enjoyable summer!

News - Wildcat Help Desk

  • Chromebooks - Current 7 - 11 students may take their chromebooks home for the summer. Be sure to keep them safe and in your protective case at all times. Use your device for Summer Reading and Summer Work Assignments!
  • Aspen - Access to some areas of Aspen, such as schedule and academics, will be restricted starting on July 1 as we prepare for the upcoming school year. If you need a copy of your report card, please contact your school secretary.
  • Google Drive - The summer is always a good time to go through and organize your Google Drive folder. Consider things like moving this past year's assignments into a folder. Add custom colors to your folders so you can easily identify them! https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2375091?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop
  • Google Additional Services - This past year, Google changed its policy on allowing students under the age of 18 to access its suite of "Additional Services". These services include Google Earth, YouTube, Blogger, Google Maps and more. Google has stated that these applications do not fall under our agreement with Google and cannot be used by students under the age of 18. Teachers will still have access to these services and can continue to use these services in the classroom for instruction. To comply with our agreement with Google, we will be shutting these services down this summer and students will no longer have access to these platforms while logged into their West Bridgewater Google Accounts. More information about this will be posted shortly on our District Technology page: https://www.wbridgewaterschools.org/page/technology. If you have any questions, you can email the Director of Technology, John Collins at jcollins@wbridgewater.com

Congratulations Retirees!

Congratulations to Rose L MacDonald Special Education teacher Joan Lewis and School Nutrition worker Gail Mondeau for all of their years of service to the students, staff and families in West Bridgewater. We wish you both the best in retirement and thank you for everything you have done!

Aspen Updates

Earlier this year, we rolled out the new mobile-friendly version of Aspen, called Aspen Go, to all family and student users. This new version makes navigating the Aspen platform much easier if you are using a mobile device, such as a phone or a tablet. In the coming weeks, additional functionality will be added to Aspen Go, including Online Student Registration. This workflow will allow you to register your child for school without leaving the mobile view. If you have pictures of registration documents saved to your camera roll, you can now easily upload them right from your phone.

Later this summer, we will release the Back to School Forms in Go, where you can verify your contact info, add/remove contacts and sign off on items such as the student handbook, chromebook policy, and more. Be on the lookout for updated tutorials in the coming weeks on our website!

News from the Nurses

Medication Pick-Up Information from the Nurses: All unused medications must be picked up by the last day of school. Medications not picked up will be discarded by the end of June. Unless your child has current permission to self-carry their medication, the school cannot allow your child to bring the medication home themselves. If you need to make special arrangements to pick up medication, please contact your building’s school nurse.

Important information to keep in mind for next school year:

  • New medication forms for both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications must be signed every year by a healthcare provider and parent/guardian.
  • Medication must remain in the properly labeled pharmacy or original OTC container.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for having the medication delivered directly to the school in a properly labeled original container by an adult.
  • Standing order medication with parent consent is available at MSHS (ibuprofen, acetaminophen, tums, benedryl) and Howard (acetaminophen) only.

Medication forms are available on the district website or may be obtained from your school’s Health Office. Your healthcare provider may use their own form, if desired.

End of Year Surveys - We Value Your Feedback

In June, each school building sent out an end-of-year surveys to all staff and families in the building newsletter. This is an important opportunity for us, as an administrative team, to gather meaningful feedback from our school community.

The survey includes opportunities for you to share what you feel is going well—highlighting our strengths—as well as areas where we can grow and improve. Your input will help guide our planning at both the building and district levels.

We truly value your voice and encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey when it becomes available. Your feedback plays a critical role in shaping the future of our schools.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support!
