GMS Falcon Update

For the last 4 years, since the implementation of the new state report card measures, Graham Middle School has consistently done exceedingly well in the areas of "Progress" and "Gap Closing". Our staff know that our goal is to grow every student, no matter where they started. These two areas are the key indicators of that goal.

The newest State Report Card indicated that Graham Middle School received a 5-Star rating, the highest possible rating!

GMS is proud to say we are the only 5-star rated middle school/junior high in Champaign County.

We are blessed with an amazing staff, and students, that are willing to push themselves and meet our high expectations.

As a whole, the Graham Local School District earned 4.5 Stars!

As a building member of the Ohio Middle Level Association, Graham Middle School has the opportunity to showcase artwork at their annual state conference in November. Two GMS Artists had artwork chosen for the showcase that will be on display.

Olivia Obaugh's piece, titled Cupcake, was a demonstration of contour line drawing, maximizing the space and quality brush control. Made with pastel tempera paint and india ink.

Adalyn Kermode's Piece, titled A "Toast" to a Good Day, was an exercise in following directions, cleaning tools and submitting finished work. Ceramic toast was made with a statement that each student would like to hear in the morning to get them motivated for the day. Ceramics, letter stamping, and Glaze were used.

We are at the halfway point for Quarter 1. Interim report cards were sent home with students today during Homeroom. If your student was absent or late, please be sure to have them check with their Homeroom teacher tomorrow morning.

Pictures will be taken on Thursday, October 9 at Graham Middle School.

With recent legislation on House Bill 8, commonly known as the "Parents Bill of Rights" there was an additional form added to Final Forms.
