Build | Fly | Code| Compete
Overview and Opportunities for Districts
Who should attend?
General and special education teachers of middle and high school students who are interested in drone programming are welcome.
What's it all about?
Are you interested in giving your students exciting new opportunities in flight and coding? If so, this event is for you! This hands-on workshop for teachers will begin with the assembly of a Hopper drone. Once assembled, participants will learn basic flight terminology and safety before flying the drone with a controller and/or mobile device. Participants will then have an introduction to block coding to plan and execute a series of flights. Finally, we will discuss how we can support teachers in developing a pathway to incorporating a drone program in your district.
Session Objectives
Participants will:
- Discover the Build|Code|Fly|Compete program available to districts starting in the upcoming school year, to determine district interest.
- Understand and have hands-on time with the building, flying, coding and competing aspects of the drones so that teachers could implement this in their classrooms.
