Principal's Message
As we conclude another successful school year at Nippersink Middle School, we want to thank our students, staff, families, and community for their support, partnership, and commitment throughout the year. Together, we celebrated many accomplishments, created lasting memories, and watched our students grow academically, socially, and personally. We wish all of our students and families a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer and look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall.
We would also like to recognize and congratulate our student-athletes who represented Nippersink Middle School at the IESA State Track Meet. Congratulations to Evelyn Smith for earning a 7th place finish in Shot Put, an outstanding accomplishment at the state level. Congratulations as well to Kayla Shea for competing in Discus and finishing 17th in the state. We are proud of both athletes for their hard work, dedication, and for representing NMS with pride.
After more than three decades of dedicated service, Nippersink Middle School celebrates the retirement of Brad Zigler, who began his career in District 2 during the 1993-94 school year. Throughout his time at NMS, Mr. Zigler has made a lasting impact as a math teacher, Department Chair, mentor to countless staff members, union leader, and coach of 8th grade girls basketball. The relationships that Mr. Zigler built during his career have brought smiles and memorable moments to our school community. His leadership, commitment to students, and years of service have helped shape NMS, and he leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten. We thank Mr. Zigler for his 33 years of dedication and wish him all the best in retirement.
This will be our last newsletter until August. Informational letters for next school year will be mailed out in July.
Enjoy your summer!
Sincerely,
-Brandon Creason

NMS May Students of the Month
6th Grade
For our final month of school, the 6th grade team would like to recognize Nora Sell. Nora’s love of learning, determination to succeed, and intrinsic motivation make her a standout student in 6th grade. She consistently puts forth her best effort, approaches challenges with a positive attitude, and serves as a wonderful role model for her peers.
Nora is more than ready to take on 7th grade, and the 6th grade team cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes in middle school and beyond. We are so proud of her hard work, growth, and dedication this year!
7th Grade
Adeline Jarvis. Throughout her 7th grade year, Adeline has continuously shown integrity. She works diligently during class: always prepared, participating, and seeking to understand. Adeline is the first one to volunteer to help, including managing different athletic teams and volunteering for Special Olympics. Most notable is her ability to set goals, work to achieve them and celebrate everyone who helped her along the way.
8th Grade
Kate Wells. Kate is a leader in the school. She works well with others, staying engaged in the work no matter the situation. Kate always has a smile on her face and is kind to students and adults in the building. Kate was not only an active participant in class, she also participated in extracurricular activities, spirit days, and the overall culture of the school. Nippersink, and especially the 8th grade team will miss Kate. We know her success here at NMS will lead to success for her in high school.

Student Services
NMS Student Services nominates Elijah Burroughs as our May Student of the Month. Eli has been a great addition to our school and we are so proud of how well he's done in class, how well he adjusted to our school, but most importantly, how great of a friend he has been. We have seen him support a friend that is going through a tough time, and Eli has been so kind, caring and compassionate to help. We are so happy to recognize Eli's kindhearted personality and strong character.

This opportunity celebrates the dedication our students have shown throughout the school year and reinforces the importance of academic success. We are proud of our students’ efforts and look forward to recognizing their accomplishments with this exciting experience.
Vouchers will be mailed home along with students’ honor roll certificates on June 2 and 3. Families are encouraged to watch for these items in the mail as we celebrate our students’ academic achievements and recognize their success.
