At Rushville Consolidated High School, we believe that every student's future is a mosaic of unique opportunities. That's why we're dedicated to providing comprehensive resources that help our students explore their passions and find the right path after graduation. From connecting with college recruiters to offering hands-on vocational training and providing valuable information on military service, our goal is to empower each student to make an informed decision about their next steps. Discover how we're working to equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, whether they're heading to a four-year university, a specialized career program, or enlisting to serve our country.
Enrollment Opportunities
Rushville Consolidated High School students have had valuable opportunities to meet with representatives from various colleges. These visits provide a direct line of communication for students to ask questions and learn about different academic programs, campus life, and financial aid. Mr. Orme has also been working with Lions Live to produce Career Corner videos which often address important questions that students may have when considering attending college. All of the interactions and resources help students make informed decisions about their next steps!
Employment Opportunities
Rushville Consolidated High School offers an impressive selection of vocational programs both on and off campus for students to choose from. The school has a strong partnership with the Whitewater Career Center, where students can get hands-on experience in fields like automotive technology, construction, cosmetology, culinary arts, welding, graphic design, health science, and more! We have also partnered with KLR Medical Certification Training School to offer students specialized pathways for dental careers, pharmacy, health science, and veterinary science. On the RCHS campus we currently offer programs such as Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Criminal Justice, Fire and Rescue, Marketing, Accounting, Education, and more! The school's commitment to career-focused education gives students a clear advantage, allowing them to gain practical skills and industry certifications before they even graduate from high school!
Enlistment Opportunities
For students interested in serving their country, Rushville Consolidated High School has been hosting regular visits from military recruiters during lunch. These events allow students to get firsthand information on the different branches of the armed forces, including enlistment options, career paths, and the educational benefits that the military has to offer!

The Benefits of Celebrating Student Success
This year, Rushville Elementary School has introduced an exciting new initiative called Leading Lions, which is already making a significant impact on the school's culture. This program is designed to celebrate students who consistently make great choices and embody the school's core values of being safe, respectful, and responsible.
Each month, every classroom teacher selects one student to be their Leading Lion. The chosen students are recognized for their positive behavior and for setting an example for their peers. The program provides a special moment of celebration for these students. They get to visit the office for a celebratory selfie with an office staff member of their choice, creating a fun and personal connection. These selfies are then proudly displayed on the school's display boards in each wing, giving the students well-deserved recognition throughout the school. To top it off, they receive a positive phone call home, sharing their success with their families and reinforcing the positive behavior at home.
Benjamin Rush Middle School is also celebrating their students with the 'Work Hard, Be Kind' raffle. Teachers are always looking for students working hard or being kind, and when they see it they give student a ticket. That ticket goes into a drawing for monthly prizes! At this celebration, we also recognize our student of the month as well as our staff member of the month as well.
Programs like Leading Lions and the 'Work Hard, Be Kind' raffle serve a crucial role in building a positive and supportive school environment. Celebrating student success has profound benefits for both individual students and the school community as a whole:
Boosts Student Morale and Self-Esteem
Reinforces Positive Behavior
Builds a Positive School Culture
Strengthens Home-School Connections
These programs are an awesome addition to RCS culture, proving that simple acts of recognition can have a lasting, positive effect on students and the entire school community!
The Power of STEAM: How Blocks and LEGOs Teach Creativity and Collaboration
In the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) class at Milroy Elementary, hands-on activities like building with LEGOs are a powerful way to teach more than just technical skills. This week, our elementary students put their teamwork skills to the test by working side-by-side on a collaborative LEGO project. They quickly discovered that combining their unique ideas, sharing responsibilities, and offering encouragement to one another led to stronger, more creative solutions. This activity visually demonstrated that just like the blocks they connected to build a unified structure, working together builds unity and helps everyone reach new heights.
At Arlington Elementary, students practice building with two-dimensional shapes. Exercises like this require them to view mathematics differently in order to problem solve. Students will gradually develop the ability to visualize specific problems to determine logical solutions!
STEAM is an interdisciplinary approach to learning that moves beyond traditional subject boundaries. It incorporates the arts—including visual arts, language arts, and social studies—into the core STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This method helps students develop a broader range of skills, preparing them for a world that values creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability!
