Community Engagement
Walpole Extended Day is excited to continue providing opportunities that promote a sense of community for our students, staff and families. Through our fundraising partnerships, monthly awareness activities and many other themed projects, students will be able to build connections with the entire Extended Day team, the Walpole Community and beyond.
Boyden Extended Day
April was a great month for students and staff at Boyden Extended Day! Although April's weather has the tendency to be unpredictable at times, we were lucky to spend many days outside while getting some exercise. Additionally, we spent lots of time enjoying a variety of indoor activities as well.
During our morning and afternoon programs, some of our students enjoyed playing a game called "Picwits". This activity is very similar to "Apples to Apples", but it also includes pictures. Many students also completed a variety of Earth Day coloring pages, which described different ways that we can take care of our planet such as reducing, reusing and recycling.
Lastly, our Extended Day artists participated in a few projects, such as crafting baby chicks hatching out of their eggs and designing bead creations. Some of the different bead creations included owls, snakes, watermelons and other designs related to Spring.
Elm Extended Day
Hello Elm Families,
April was quick month, here at Elm Extended Day! Over the past several weeks, we had plenty of outdoor play, even on some of the cooler days. Also, during the days that we spent some time inside, we completed plenty of crafts for Earth Day and Easter. As always, our bead bracelets were also a big hit!
Looking ahead towards the month of May, we will continue to spend as much time outside as possible. Please continue sending your students with sweatshirts or jackets that are suitable for outdoor play. Summer is just a couple of months away!
Fisher Extended Day
Hello Fisher Families,
During the month of April, Fisher students participated in many different fun and exciting activities! During the morning program, a few of our students volunteered to read a story to the rest of the group. Also, the morning team put together a special egg tree, where each student had the opportunity to choose an egg and a special treat!
During the afternoon program, each student crafted a paper bunny for our bulletin board and many students also enjoyed making necklaces and bracelets with beads. Each of these activities were great successes! While spending time outside, students enjoyed playing trac ball, soccer, football, basketball and hurdle jumping. One student even led an exercise class on the field. Everyone had a blast! Lastly, many of our students volunteered to keep Fisher School clean for Earth Day. Way to go, everyone!
Moving forward, please continue to bring a water bottle and light jacket to Extended Day, as we will be spending more time outside!
OPR Extended Day
Hello OPR Families,
Spring has officially started to bloom at OPR! We have been spending as much time outside as possible. In addition to spending time at both playgrounds, many students enjoyed practicing jump rope tricks and playing gaga ball. While spending time inside, Ms. Danielle's Sticker Club introduced new stickers and colorful notepads to decorate. Also, Ms. Andrea continued to work with students to make fun and challenging word searches for other students to complete. Lastly, Ms. Bridget's last day was on April 17th and we look forward to welcoming her back during the upcoming school year.
With the warmer weather hopefully here to stay, we look forward to spending lots of time outside. Please remember to send your student to Extended Day with a water bottle and a light jacket or sweatshirt for the cooler afternoons.
Thank you!
