๐ October Fall Fundraiser - Keller's Farmstand
Enjoy a festive fall weekend at Keller's Farmstand and earn money for Scott School!

TIME: 9AM - 6PM
WHERE: Keller's Farmstand in Oswego
Bring the flyer and/or show the flyer at the ticketbooth!
Crosstown Classic
It's that time of year again - the time when we GET EXCITED for the Elementary Crosstown Classic! This is a free fun run where every child is encouraged to run because they can! While we do recognize the top ten runners, this event is for all students of all levels - not just athletes.
Once again, we are looking to make this a family friendly event by including crafts, face painting, a DJ, food trucks, and photo booth. All activities are free of charge except for the food trucks. Please encourage your families to come out, cheer on your schools, and enjoy the amenities!
Based upon the results from the survey we sent to all XTC participants at the end of last year, we are once again going to hold the event on a Saturday. Here are the quick-hit details:
- Date: Saturday, October 17th (a rain date has been scheduled for October 24th in the case of unsafe racing conditions)
- Time: Check-in Opens @ 1:00, Race Starts @ 2:00
- Where: Jefferson Junior High School
- Who: Any D203 Elementary School student and any Pre-K student planning on attending a D203 Elementary School for Kindergarten next August
- This is a volunteer run event. We rely heavily on the help of school volunteers, as well as junior high and high school students to be pacers and for race day support. While we are not requiring day-of volunteers from every school, we are asking you to distribute these volunteer sign-up sheets within your schools and communities. The more help we have, the better equipped we are to respond to feedback and make improvements.
- STUDENT PACER/VOLUNTEER LINK (must be junior high or high school aged)
Forward Together CORE Chats - Oct 19
Join us before our monthly October Home & School meeting to participate in the Forward Together CORE chats portion of the Forward Together (often referred to as Forward Together 2032) initiative by our District 203.
What to Expect:
CORE Chats are intimate, facilitated, 30โ45 minute small-group conversations hosted across district school sites. Designed to prioritize active listening, these sessions ensure every participantโs voice is heard through equitable sharing rules (such as a 2โ3 minute talking guideline).
Who Participates?
Each building will hold three separate CORE chats, one for students, one for staff, and one for our families.
- Students: Engagement through Principal Advisory Councils, focus groups, and advisory sessions.
- Staff: Dedicated sessions held during staff meetings, institute days, or designated collaborative times.
- Community & Families: Evening and out-of-school-day sessions hosted at local schools in partnership with Home & School (H&S) groups.
Forward Together is a community engagement and strategic initiative launched by Naperville Community Unit School District 203. For more information please visit HERE.
Schedule:
6PM - CORE Chats small group conversations / Light refreshments will be served
7PM - Scott H&S Monthly meeting
We hope to see you there!

๐ธ Past Event Celebrations
Teacher Appreciation Soup Luncheon
Our Staff Appreciation Committee kicked off the year with the well loved tradition of the soup luncheon! Thank you to the committee and parent volunteers who shared their culinary talents and provided the staff and teachers with a yummy lunch!
Thank you teachers and staff for all you do - and we enjoy this yearly tradition!
2026 Walk&Roll to School
What a great turnout for the 2026 Walk to School event! It was great to see all the parents/neighbors getting together and enjoy a nice morning stroll. Scotty the Eagle came out to say hello! Big Thank You to the teachers for meeting students and families at specific corners along the way - the students loved getting to say an early good morning! Thank you to all the families and students for making it out and hope you enjoyed the morning!
Thank you Volunteers!
Thank you to the parent volunteers, and student and community volunteers - without you these events are not possible! The Home & School committees are working hard to put together events for a fun filled year! From Dinner Night Outs, to our Fall Block party, and the Walk to School and luncheon this week - we can't thank you enough for all your thoughtfulness and hard work.

Classroom Fall Parties Sign-ups Live!
Scott Home & School is pleased to host the Fall Classroom Parties the afternoon of Friday, October 30th and is in need of parent volunteers to supervise the parties.
All classrooms are in need of volunteers and substitutes. The substitutes will be called if a volunteer has to cancel (which happens often!)
Sign-ups should consist of one (1) family member only to allow more families to participate. Younger siblings cannot be brought into the building during the party per District 203 guidelines.
All volunteers must bring a state-issued photo ID to be checked in at the front office. If you are new to Scott School this school year and have not had your Driver's License scanned yet, we would love you to stop in the office with your ID any time prior to October 30.
Parent volunteers may begin checking-in at 1:20 pm. Fall Class Parties will take place in the classroom from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm. The Schoolwide Parade will take place from 2:00 pm to 2:15pm.
Parent volunteers will be asked to leave the building without their students at 2:00 pm to allow students to partake in the schoolwide parade and then return to the classroom to pack up and exit the building at normal dismissal. If parents need to take their student out of the building early, they must sign their students out at the office following the normal early dismissal procedure.
Please use this LINK to sign-up. Thank you for your support and helping make these parties happen!
๐ธ Personality Portraits Fundraiser
We are so excited to share that we are going to be teaming up with Ally and B Photography to provide you with a chance to get timeless, black-and-white portraits done of your children, right here in town!
Sign up for a 5-minute time slot on Saturday, November 14th with just a $25 retainer. This retainer saves your 5-minute spot and gets you one edited, digital image of your choice.
After your session, you will receive your full gallery from the photographer and have the option to upgrade for $25 per image or $125 for your full gallery.
These are great gifts for the holidays, not to mention to display on your walls. A portion of the proceeds of this event will support our school community.
There are a limited number of spots available, so donโt delay! All time slots and more information can be found here.
Thank you for your support!
