Morning Arrival & Tardies
⏰ The Importance of Arriving on Time
Arriving at school on time helps students start their day feeling calm, prepared, and ready to learn. When students are here on time, they have the opportunity to unpack, connect with their teacher and classmates, and begin learning with everyone else. Every minute matters, and being on time helps set the tone for a successful day! Thank you for helping our Buckaroos start each day strong! 🐮💙
Tardies
On Monday we will begin documenting students who arrive after the bell rings at 745. If arriving after 7:45, please walk your child to the front office and check them in. Students will receive a tardy slip to give to their teacher when entering the classroom.
Safety
Crosswalk
When parking and walking up to the school in the morning please be safe and use the crosswalk. This helps model safety for our yougest students. Buses are coming and going at all times in the morning throught the front drive.
Seatbelts-It is the law!
For the safety of all our Buckaroos, students must remain buckled in their seat belts while riding in a vehicle on campus. Please do not allow children to unbuckle while moving in the loop. Hanging out of sunroofs and windows is a safety hazard.
Granparents' Day Celebration
Beginning of the Year Assessments
Dear Blue Hole Primary Families,
As we begin a new school year, our teachers are excited to learn more about each of our Buckaroos—their strengths, their interests, and the areas where they are ready to grow. One of the tools we use to help us understand each student’s academic needs is the NWEA MAP Growth assessment.
📚 What is MAP Growth?
MAP Growth is a computer-based assessment that helps teachers understand what your child knows and is ready to learn in Reading and Math. The assessment is designed to meet students where they are academically. As your child answers questions, the difficulty of the questions adjusts based on their responses.
MAP Growth is not a traditional test that students pass or fail. Instead, it gives teachers valuable information that helps us make instructional decisions and provide the right level of challenge and support for every student.
🌱 Why do we give MAP Growth at the beginning of the year?
The beginning-of-year assessment provides a starting point, or baseline, for your child's learning. It helps teachers identify:
What skills your child has already mastered
Areas where your child may need additional support
Skills your child is ready to learn next
Appropriate opportunities for enrichment and challenge
Throughout the year, students will take MAP Growth again. By comparing results over time, teachers can monitor individual student growth and make adjustments to instruction as needed.
❤️ How can I help my child?
The best way to support your child is to keep MAP Growth in perspective. Please encourage your child to:
Do your best.
Take your time.
Try your hardest.
Don't worry about getting every question right.
A good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and a positive attitude are the best preparation!
Most importantly, please remind your child that the assessment is simply one way their teachers learn how to help them grow. We are not looking for perfection—we are looking for growth!
At Blue Hole Primary, our mission is to nurture a love of learning by building a community rooted in consistency, care, and respect, where all students can excel. MAP Growth is one of the many tools we use to help us make that mission a reality for every Buckaroo.
Thank you for partnering with us as we begin another wonderful year of learning and growth!

Transportation Changes
All transportation changes need to go through the front office BEFORE 2:00. You can call our main number at 512-847-3407 or email BHPlogistics@wimberleyisd.net. Transportation changes recieved after 2:00 may not be honored. Please get them in early. When we have to pull a student off the bus to get in the car rider line, it holds up our entire dismissal process.
Please do not rely on the teacher for transportation changes. They are busy teaching and may not be able to check email.
