Asynchronous Learning Day
Just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday, January 17, will be an asynchronous learning day. This means that students will stay at home and will be expected to complete assignments as designated by their classroom teacher.
- Student devices will be sent home the day prior for students to use for asynchronous learning purposes only. Except Kindergarten students, they will be bringing packets home to complete and return on January 21st.
- Students who do not attempt the assignments or activities assigned by their teacher will be marked absent.
- Here is a helpful link for logging into the students' device- https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xHOF6SJ67bgQdoXEHgeaj5bcCVyRt8v2hNoaKLAevBM/edit?usp=sharing
All teachers will have office hours from 9:00am to 11:00am on January 17 to answer any questions students may have.
5th Grade Career Fair
Oak View will be having a career fair for 5th grade students on Wednesday, February 5th from 10am-12pm. If you, your family members or friends are interested in coming in to share about your/their career please reach out to Terri Simon at simont@district279.org.
Yearbook Information
You recently received email communication from Kemmetmueller Photography to announce that the 2024-2025 yearbook is on sale.
Kemmetmueller will, once again, be providing a grade level year-end review book for each student at no cost. This book will have photos of all students from your child’s grade along with a school-wide photo collage. You DO NOT need to order the year-end review. Each student will receive one!
The full yearbook, which contains photos of all students in the entire school as well as various collage pages, special groups, etc, is being created. Families that would like a yearbook can purchase one for $10 plus tax and a credit card fee. The yearbook order deadline is April 11, 2025, so please be sure to submit your order by then! Yearbooks can be purchased online here: PLIC Books Store
Purchased yearbooks and year-end review books will be handed out at the same time during the last week of school.

Early Release Procedure Change
Dear Families,
We are making an adjustment to our early release/student pick-up procedure. We’re making these changes in order to ensure that the office is able to fully support all the end of day procedures safely and efficiently. Moving forward, here are the changes that we are implementing here at Oak View to our student early release process:
Early release pick up can happen during the day up until 3:30.
From 3:30 until 4:00, we will no longer be able to call down kids to be picked up from the office.
If you need to pick up your scholar between 3:30-4:00 your two options are:
Pick them up before 3:30.
Wait until 3:55 when we release students.
Please notify the office by 3:15 if you are picking your child up before 3:30. We’ll do our best to have your child in the office ready for you.
Changes to your child’s end of day routine
If you are changing your child’s end of day routine, please call the office to notify them of the change. You must call by 3:15 or no change will be made. We will call your child’s teacher and let them know of the change. An example of a change to end of the day routines would be parent pickup instead of bus, bus instead of KidStop, etc.
Parent Pick-Up Parking:
If you are picking up your child at the end of the day, please either pull up to the curb OR park and walk up. Please DO NOT park at the curb, this holds up the line.
