Important Reminders for our Return to School on Jan. 5th

We are excited to see all of our students back in the hallways and classrooms on

Monday, January 5, 2026.

To help everyone get back into the swing of things, we have a few quick reminders for a successful first week:

Items to Bring Back

  • Winter Gear: Please ensure your student brings their coats, hats, gloves, and boots for outdoor recess.

  • Temperature-Based Requirements
    ● 40-50 Degrees: At the minimum, students will be required to wear long sleeves (all grades)
    ● < 40 Degrees: Students need a warm coat or winter jacket (all grades)
Minimal Expectations (When Snow Arrives & Remains on the Ground)
    ● Hats/Mittens: KN - 6th - Needed each day
    ● Winter Coat: KN - 6th - Needed each day
    ● Boots: Grades K-2 - Needed each day
Grades 3-6 - Needed when leaving the blacktop area
    ● Snow Pants: Grades K-2 - Needed each day
Grades 3-6 - Needed when leaving the blacktop area
  • Chromebooks: If your student brought their device home over the break, please make sure it returns to school fully charged on January 5th.

  • Snack Replenishment: With the start of a new year, many students are running low on their snack supply for milk breaks. Please check in with your child to see if they need a refill.

Winter Reading Screeners

During the month of January, we will begin our winter reading screeners. These help us understand how to best support your child's growth. You can help by ensuring your student is well-rested and ready to do their best!

Fuel for the Day

A healthy breakfast is the best way to start the day. As a reminder, the Stevens Point School District offers free breakfast to all students. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this great program to ensure they are fueled up for learning.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us start 2026 on such a positive note. We look forward to a fantastic second half of the school year.

Thank You

Huge thanks to the volunteers who helped with setup and teardown for the Kennedy School Winter Concert—you made the stage shine! We also want to thank the many hands that helped make the PTO Holiday Shoppe a massive success this year.

We literally couldn't do this without you.

🌟 Shout Out: A huge thank you to Amy Genskow for heading up the Holiday Shoppe. Your leadership made all the difference!

Spring Break

The Stevens Point School District's Spring Break is March 16 - March 20.🌸

🥛 Payment Reminder: Second Semester Milk

It is time to renew milk orders for the upcoming semester! Please ensure your payments are submitted by Tuesday, January 27th.

There are three convenient ways to pay your semester milk fees:

  • Option 1: Check – Send a check payment directly to the school office with your child.

  • Option 2: Lunch Account Transfer – We can deduct the fee from your child’s lunch account, provided there is a positive balance. To use this option, please send a note to the office authorizing the transfer.

  • Option 3: Online Payment – Payments can be made online via Skyward. If you choose this method, please send a note to the office to let us know.

Need Help with Skyward? If you need your login or password for your Skyward Family Access account, please contact the school office and we will be happy to assist you.
