SWAU visits and teaches Science Fair Fun
KAES 4th grade teacher, Nu Zabala, collaborated with the SWAU Education Department to bring a STEAM experience to KAES elementary students with the purpose of igniting curiosity, creativity and excitement for innovation. The SWAU education majors explained science theorems through fun interactive experiments.
A Special Look at the Texas West through History
Over the past few weeks, 7th-grade students dove into a cattle drive simulation, choosing historic trails from Texas and calculating how long it would take to get their cattle to market. Along the way, fate cards and key decisions led some to gains and others to setbacks. The experience wrapped up with a lively celebration: students wrote and performed cowboy songs, shared trail-inspired food, and competed to drive their 'cattle' across the field and rope a cow to earn points."
