Hello, Pine families!

Our Final Chapter at Pine Begins! 🦅 The first day of school is Thursday, August 20, and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome our students and families back to Pine! Tonight’s Back-to-School Open House is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, meet teachers, and get ready for the year ahead. Be sure to check out the details below!

This year is especially meaningful as we begin our final chapter at Pine before moving into our new PK–5 building next school year. I'm looking forward to making this a memorable year filled with learning, laughter, and plenty of special moments together!

I'd also like to invite you to join our PTA! It’s a great way to stay connected to our school, support your child, meet other families, volunteer, and help make this final year at Pine extra special. We’d love to have you be part of it! The QR code is located to the right for your convenience.

Please join us during your scheduled time to meet your child's teacher, receive a short presentation and drop off school supplies. Thank you in advance for arriving promptly at your scheduled time and not before, allowing our first group to finish.

Monday, August 17th

4th Grade - 6:00 - 6:45pm (teacher presentation to begin at 6:15 in classroom)

5th Grade - 6:45 - 7:30pm (teacher presentation to begin at 7:00 in classroom)

Please be sure all school bags, lunch boxes and supplies are clearly labeled with your child's name for easy identification. The Pine PTA will be sharing membership information during this event as well, please consider joining!!

A smooth and safe arrival and dismissal process depends on everyone becoming familiar with and following our procedures. Please review the diagrams below to see how vehicles will enter, travel through, and exit campus.

• Arrival & Dismissal: Families will follow the marked traffic pattern to the designated pick-up/drop-off area on the north side of the parking lot near the playground.
• Buses: Buses will wait and load along the marked loop around the parking lot.
• During the School Day: If you need to pick up your child for an appointment, please follow the parking lot loop and use the front entrance.

As we all become familiar with the process, it will become smoother and more efficient. Our staff will be available to help guide families along the way.

Most importantly, student safety is our top priority. Please drive slowly, remain attentive, and be mindful of all students and families while on campus. Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and partnership!

The Parent Portal has a fresh, more user-friendly design that makes it easier to navigate while still providing access to all of the same important student information, including grades, attendance, and schedules.

The Parent Portal will be available on August 12th for parents/guardians to complete, verify or update important information such as phone numbers, email addresses and emergency contact information. Please make sure your contact information is current as we need this information in order to communicate with our families using our school district messaging system. Additionally, forms such as technology acceptable use policies, and the student code of conduct need to be completed.

Student schedules and teacher assignments will be available in PowerSchool starting August 12th. This information will only be available to those who have updated their parent portal and completed their back to school forms.

As we prepare to welcome students back to Pine, we want to share an important safety update for our walking families. The City has relocated the student crosswalk to the traffic light at the intersection of Dover Center Road and Driscoll Lane. This new location provides students with the added safety of crossing with the assistance of a traffic signal.

Students who walk or ride their bike to and from school will be expected to use the crosswalk safely, follow all traffic signals, and demonstrate responsible, independent crossing habits. We encourage families to walk the route with their child before the first day of school to practice using the new crosswalk. Taking a few minutes to become familiar with the route will help students feel confident and prepared for a safe start to the school year.

Do you need childcare before school? You can sign up using the link below. Before School Care is located in the gym at Pine and begins at 7:30am. Only students registered for morning care are able to enter the building before 8:50.

Help us celebrate an exciting new school year by snapping a photo of your child with a First Day of School sign! Our printable signs are available to download and can be printed on a standard sheet of paper.
