Second Grade Parents Information Session for Lane School (Reminder)
Dear Grade 2 Families:
Welcome to Lane School! We are excited to have your child joining our school community as a rising 3rd grader. We know that transitioning to a new school can bring many questions, and we’re here to make the experience as smooth and welcoming as possible.
To support your family in this transition, we’ll be offering several opportunities to help you and your child get to know our school:
Parent Information Sessions: May 15th 6-7pm (passed) or May 21st 9:30-10:30am at the Lane School. Learn more about daily routines, curriculum highlights, and how we’ll support your child’s growth.
Student Tours – Your child will be visiting our school on either June 3rd or 4th to learn the layout, meet some staff and begin feeling comfortable in the new setting.
Summer Tours – Families can contact me directly over the summer to arrange a tour to help ease any first-day jitters.
We look forward to meeting you. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

End-of-Year Student Gift Options:
Looking for a fun way to celebrate your student? We have a limited supply of Bedford tie-dye shirts (available in select sizes, first come first serve), Bedford baseball caps, and both stainless steel and Nalgene water bottles. These make great end-of-year keepsakes! Reach out to the BEST PTO if you’re interested in picking some up for your student.
Reminder on Staff Gift Giving Guidelines:
As we think about ways to thank our wonderful teachers and staff, please keep in mind the state’s ethical guidelines for gift giving:
https://www.mass.gov/info-details/gifts-to-public-school-teachers-and-staff
If you have any questions or need guidance, feel free to reach out to Aditi Sharma or the BEST PTO.
Here are a few thoughtful (and guideline-friendly!) ideas for year-end appreciation:
Email the principal to highlight your teacher’s great work
Have students write short notes about their favorite part of the school year
Organize a group lunch or dinner delivery
Contribute to a class gift card (if your budget allows)
Stay Connected Over the Summer:
To ensure you receive important updates from the BEST PTO over the summer and into the new school year, please:
Confirm your contact information is up to date on Membership Toolkit (www.bestpto.org)
When class assignments are released in August, log in to update your student and family information
The BEST PTO will continue to send communications via Membership Toolkit and Facebook, so staying connected is key!
Coming Soon: Summer Family Resource Guide
We’re also excited to share that the BEST PTO is putting together a local resource guide to help families discover area recommendations and community events that will be running throughout the summer. Stay tuned!
Once again, thank you for everything you've done to support your classrooms and school this year. We wish you and your families a relaxing and fun summer!
Warm regards,
The BEST PTO
