Each week you'll have the opportunity to meet a new faculty member. This week, we introduce you to 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Cat Apolinario!

Hi! I’m Ms. Apolinario, and I’m so proud to be a 2nd-grade teacher and grade-level lead here at Innovation Prep of South Fort Myers. Teaching has been my passion since I was 16, and I truly love helping my students grow not just academically, but as confident, kind little humans.

I’m also the head coach for both our Soaring Falcons and Rising Falcons cheer teams. Working with the girls, building their confidence, and watching them shine on and off the field is one of my favorite parts of what I do.

I’m big on relationships, communication, and making sure every child feels supported and celebrated. My goal is always to create a classroom where students feel safe, loved, and excited to learn every single day.

Florida Students are Resilient! Florida Students are Resilient!

In February, we celebrate GRIT, working consistently toward long-term goals.

Florida is leading a first-in-the-nation approach that empowers students to overcome life’s inevitable challenges. FLDOE developed state education standards and resources to equip students with skills that build resiliency. Each month, Resiliency Florida features one of the 11 key Resiliency Characteristics as the Characteristic of the Month. Check out the grade level attachments below for ways to teach grit at home.

πŸ”½ IMPORTANT REMINDERS FROM PREVIOUS NEWSLETTER πŸ”½ πŸ”½ IMPORTANT REMINDERS FROM PREVIOUS NEWSLETTER πŸ”½

Important Information on Dress Code πŸ‘” Important Information on Dress Code πŸ‘”

As we enter the second semester of the school year, it is very important that at this point your child is coming to school in our school uniform. A higher standard of dress encourages greater respect for individuals, students and others, and results in a higher standard of behavior. Our dress code guidelines indicate appropriate school dress during normal school days for every student. Innovation Preparatory Academy reserves the right to interpret these guidelines and/or make changes during the school year. Students are expected to follow these guidelines.

Please make sure your student is dressed appropriately in their uniform everyday. All students need to be wearing our ISFM or SMCA logoed shirt. This is a reminder that SMCA shirts may only be worn for the remainder of this school year. Beginning, August 2026 all students need to have ISFM logoed shirts. You may find all of our dress code policies on page 22 of our Parent Handbook.

Dress Code Policies (across all grade levels):

Shirts- school logoed, must be tucked in

Pants- approved uniform pants (no cargo pants)

Outerwear- school logoed jackets only, no hoodies

Shoes/Socks- closed toed shoes, no crocs, slippers

Hair/Make Up- hair must be natural colors

Belts/Jewelry

We understand that we may have some colder weather, it is encouraged that you purchase a ISFM jacket or sweatshirt. Students will not be allowed to wear non-school logoed jackets inside the building.

If your student is found out of uniform, please be aware that we will be calling you and sending home a dress code violation sheet. Please be aware you may be asked to bring in the correct uniform, especially if we do not have any extras. We will begin issuing dress code violations and referrals for students who are not in uniform and are not following our policies.
