We are excited to welcome students back! The Mustang Memo is a newsletter sent to families of Maple Grove Middle School. It is one of the ways we communicate with families important information of upcoming events and activities. Another way to keep up to date is to look at our website https://mgms.district279.org/. We also communicate with families through email. If you change your email., please update it through ParentVue.
A note from the Principal
Dear MGMS Families,
What a fantastic couple of weeks we’ve had at Maple Grove Middle School! It’s been so rewarding to see our students settle into their new routines, engage with their teachers, and start building connections! I have had a slow start to the school year personally due to the arrival of our newborn son, who decided to show up the days leading up to the first day of school. I'm excited to be back in the building with our students and staff as I continue to learn more about the MGMS community.
Spirit Week & Pep Rally!
We are thrilled to announce that next week is Spirit Week, culminating in our big Pep Rally on Friday.
Please encourage your student to participate in the daily dress-up themes if they are interested. Spirit Week is a fantastic opportunity for our students to show off their Mustang Pride, bond as a school, and have a lot of fun together!
Looking Ahead: Parent-Teacher Conferences
We will be holding Parent-Teacher Conferences over the next two weeks. This is a crucial time for us to connect and discuss your student's progress and goals. October 9th is in person and October 14th is virtual. 10/9, 3:30-7:30pm and 10/14, (3:00-6:30). You will receive a separate, detailed communication shortly with additional information.
Thank you again for helping us get the year off to such a positive start. We appreciate all of you as the biggest supporters of our students and MGMS!
Sincerely,
Xavier
Principal, Maple Grove Middle School

Parent Drop-off and Pick-up
Parent Drop-off and Pick-up
If you are driving your child to school or picking them up after school, the drop-off/pick-up area is at the community gyms entrance. Do not use the front entrance, as this is a designated space for our vulnerable student transportation. Please follow the winding line up to the curb by the building. Bright orange cones will help mark the path. Students must be dropped off and picked up AT THE CURB ONLY, and vehicles must stay in a single line. Students are not permitted to walk through the parking lot to and from your vehicle. Your help with this is very much appreciated and will help keep our students safe. Students can start entering the building at 7:45 a.m. so please plan accordingly especially during the cold winter months.
