Step 2: Updated Student Information
Required yearly to ensure accurate communication.
Complete the Annual Update of Student Information in the PORTAL
At the start of each school year, it is required that parents & guardians confirm and update contact and health records for the safety of our students. Once logged into the Parent Portal, guardians will be directed to update information for ALL students enrolled in Omaha Public Schools. Here is a direct link: https://campus.ops.org/campus/portal/ops.jsp
Once Logged in, click more, and then online registration.
*If you have moved to a new address, please make sure you bring documentation to the school as soon as possible to ensure school information is received at the correct home.
Step 3: Complete the Educational Benefits Form (EBF)
This is the school lunch form. It gives the school additional funding! Please complete this form as it benefits Bryan Middle School!!!
Complete the Educational Benefits Form (EBF) on SchoolCafe.com > > > The Educational Benefits Form is the application which can provide your student with a FREE Activity Card as well as many more free and discounted opportunities. Go to schoolcafe.com.
At School Café, you can add money to your student’s account for ala carte items, view menus, and keep track of your lunch account. Contact OPS Nutrition Services at 531-299-0230 with questions. Here is a link to their OPS page: https://www.ops.org/departments/operations/nutrition-services
Step 4: Complete the Science Safety Contract
There are two forms. One for students and one for parents.
Step 5: Register for a School Cash Online Account
Our district will now use School Cash Online for all school items and activity fees. SchoolCash Online reduces cash and check payments to our schools and lets families:
- Keep track of their students’ school items and activity fees
- Check their account history
- View and print receipts
- Pay for school fees with a simple click
Primary guardians will receive an invitation email from SchoolCash Online in the coming days with a link to register for an account and attach student(s) to their profile. Families can also register an account using the link above and the same email address used for Campus Parent.
Once the primary guardian has created an account, they can provide access to other caregivers of their choice.
See the Parent Help Desk for SchoolCash Online FAQ for additional details and troubleshooting information, or reach out to your student’s school with any questions.
Step 6: Sign up for the Boys and Girls Club - After School Partner
All BMS students should enroll!
Bryan Middle School is thrilled to have an incredible community partner for our after-school program, The Boys and Girls Club. The Boys and Girls Club does require registration and confirmation to attend. You can easily register your students by going to https://www.bgcomaha.org/locations/bryan-middle-club.html. Here is the registration link: https://online.traxsolutions.com/midlands/bryan#/dashboard. It is free for Bryan Middle school students to become members.
Step 7: Nurse's Information/Physicals
Follow the steps below.
7th Grade Physicals: Remember that Nebraska state law requires all incoming 7th graders to have a physical exam and be up to date on all immunizations before school begins.
Sports Physicals: All 7th and 8th Graders that plan to participate in athletics will need a sports physical. We encourage all students to get one before the start of the year, as it will last the entire year.
Recommendations: We recommend scheduling an appointment with your child's healthcare provider as soon as possible, as these spots tend to fill up quickly. Alternatively, you can visit a school-based health center for these services.
Please bring copies of your child’s health records to the school prior to the start of the year, or have the healthcare provider fax them to the school, Attention: School Nurse.
Step 8: Follow us on Social Media
Social Media and Website
We encourage all parents to take advantage of following Bryan Middle School on Twitter (@OPS_BryanMiddle), on Facebook (@OPSBryanMiddleSchool), on Instagram (@ops_bryanmiddle) or looking at our website (https://www.ops.org/Bryanmiddle). In addition, Bryan Middle sends out a weekly Newsletter through email. Make sure that your email address is up-to-date.
Step 9: Attend Back to School Night
BRING
(1) Student iPad to access their schedule
(2) any prescriptions or medical devices if needed
(3) cash if needing to purchase any item in person rather than online.
Step 10: Attend Food Night
Bryan Middle will have food nights at participating restaurants throughout the school year. A portion of the sales from that night come back to Bryan Middle. Please consider supporting us by participating in food nights. The first one will be at Culvers (3602 Raynor Parkway) from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25.
