Chapel
Lower School
This week in Chapel, our students explored what it means to truly shine for God—not just through talent or success, but through love, kindness, and humility in everything we do.
Our scripture came from Matthew 5:16:
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
From performances to games to year-end projects, our students are stepping into the spotlight in so many ways. And in the midst of it all, this verse reminds us what truly matters: pointing others to Jesus in everything we do.
It was fun comparing ourselves to flashlights, knowing that like a flashlight needs batteries to shine, we shine bright when we’re connected to our power source too: God. Because we know that our unique gifts and talents were given to us by God for a reason we also know that that reason is to use those gifts to serve others. The brightest light we can shine is through love and kindness.
Students had a great time playing the “Shine or Shade” game, where they decided whether certain behaviors reflected God’s light—or dimmed it. It centered on sportsmanship, friendship, humility, and encouragement and as usual, they showed how engaged they were in the message by getting every single game question correct!
It was so exciting to have our 4th grade students lead the worship song “Awesome God”. We are so proud of how our students shine, using their gifts with hearts that reflect God’s love and desire to glorify Him in all they do.
Have a wonderful week!
Middle/High School
This week we closed out our series titled Home Improvement. We have discussed many topics in chapel, devotion classes, and our retreats this year, and now it's time to take what we have learned and put it into action to improve the spiritual lives of our homes and the people around us! This week we built on the foundation of Christ that we discussed last week by taking the next step in the interior design of our new creation. With God's word as the blueprint, we can fill our homes with things that glorify Him!
The girls led us in worship by singing Heart of Worship by Matt Redman and you can listen to his version here: https://youtu.be/OD4tB1o6YLw?si=ashsXIHvFo3wQvu8
