Update from Principal Aldas Update from Principal Aldas

Dear Marbrook Community,

It is with great excitement that we officially welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! Preparations have been underway all summer to ensure a FIN-tastic start to the school year!

Families are encouraged to stay connected and engaged with us throughout the school year. One important way to stay informed is by ensuring your contact information is up to date in our system. This will allow you to receive our weekly family newsletter, the Dolphin Splash. The newsletter will be sent via email each Sunday at 10 a.m. with the subject line "MES Weekly Splash." It will also be posted on the Marbrook Elementary website.

In addition, teachers will continue using the REMIND application as a convenient way to communicate between home and school. Messages will be sent directly to the phone number registered in our system as SMS texts or emails from the REMIND Parent App. Families may respond through the app, via text message, or by email. More information will be provided by your child’s teacher.

You and your family are invited to meet your child’s teacher and visit their classroom during our Marbrook Walkthrough event on August 21 between the hours of 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Classroom assignments will be distributed that afternoon beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The Red Clay Nutrition Department is committed to providing access to nutritious, delicious meals to as many students as possible. All Red Clay elementary students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch every day school is in session. In addition, the Nutrition Department will be offering a free dinner for all students attending our Walkthrough event on August 21, along with sample portions for adults. Be sure to stop by the cafeteria that evening and enjoy the wonderful meals our Nutrition staff proudly prepares for our students.

As in previous years, students in Grades K–3 will keep their Chromebooks at school, while students in Grades 4 and 5 will bring theirs to and from home each day. Parents/guardians are required to read the Technology Agreement found in the Red Clay Student Handbook. Additionally, all families of students in Grades 4 and 5 are asked to pay the annual $20 Protection Plan fee. This fee can be paid through the Parent Portal. More detailed instructions will be shared soon.

All students will be issued a lanyard and badge, which must be used daily. These badges will be used to scan on and off the school bus in the morning and afternoon and will also be used to receive breakfast and lunch. Scanning on and off the bus is a safety requirement and enables families to track their child’s location using the “Where’s the Bus” app. You can explore the app now for more information; however, you will not be able to officially sign up until bus assignments are shared by the district’s transportation department in the coming weeks.

Enjoy these last few weeks of summer! We look forward to seeing you on August 21st for our Walkthrough Event as we kick off what is sure to be the best school year yet! 🐬
