Message from Mrs. Sturdivant Message from Mrs. Sturdivant

As the weather warms up, we've noticed an increase in lost clothing items, especially jackets and lunchboxes left behind on the playground. To help ensure these items make their way back home, we kindly ask for your support.

Please take a moment to talk with your child about keeping track of their belongings, especially when taking off jackets or setting down lunchboxes during recess. Labeling these items with their name-inside jackets and on lunchboxes-makes it much easier for us to return them directly, rather than placing them in lost and found where they may not always be claimed.

Thank you for your help in keeping our students' belongings safe and accounted for!

March is National Nutrition Month! Nutrition impacts a child’s physical growth as well as brain development. A child with proper nutrition is often able to maintain a healthy weight, perform well in school, as well as have a decreased risk of illness and disease. Rising cost of groceries, busy lifestyles, and many other things can have an impact on meeting our daily nutritional needs. Below are some great resources from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, myplate.gov, and foodallery.org.

What’s Growing On in the CLES Garden What’s Growing On in the CLES Garden

This weekend is a big weekend for the garden! We have a workday scheduled on Saturday at 9am. We usually finish up around 1030am, but you are welcome to come and go as your schedule allows. Perfect weather is predicted, and we can't wait to get some sunshine! We would love for you to join us! No experience required. Students of all ages are welcome, as we love to see them involved. We will be preparing the raised beds for direct seeding to start and filling up seedling trays with soil for students to plant seeds next week. You should have seen the smiles on the sweet Kindergartners faces this week when they planted potatoes! In the next couple of weeks we plan to have 1st and 2nd graders plant carrots and peas, while we hope third and fourth graders will get to help us plant seeds in the seedling trays for the plant sale. We need your help so that we can continue these activities our students enjoy so much during their school day. It is going to be a lovely Saturday, we hope to see you in the CLE Garden!
