Wiggin Street Parent Update

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

We were so proud of all the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students that participated in the Talent Show this week. The many talents of our Wiggin Street students never cease to amaze me! From musical performances to comedy acts and dance/tumbling, our students showed incredible courage and creativity on stage. I only wish I could have included videos of every performance to share with all of you.

Our 5th grade students will head to Heartland Outdoor School for camp on Monday. This is a one-day trip, and we will be joined by students from Dan Emmett and Twin Oak Elementary Schools. It is always a wonderful opportunity for students to build new friendships and connections with classmates they will see again next year at the middle school.

This week, our 5th graders will also begin learning more about the music programs at MVMS. Students will have the opportunity to try different instruments and rehearse with Mr. Garrabrandt and several MVHS choir members. Then, on Thursday, MVMS administrators, one of the guidance counselors, and the social worker will visit Wiggin Street to help students learn more about what to expect as they transition to middle school.

On Friday, we are excited to welcome back our Wiggin Street alumni who are graduating from high school this year. Our students will enjoy hearing about the seniors’ future plans and their favorite memories from their time at Wiggin Street. One of the highlights of the day will be a traditional senior clap out as graduates walk the halls in their caps and gowns.

Staff Talent Act: Box Stacking Competition

Current 5th graders have the option to participate in band, choir, and orchestra upon entering middle school next year. The following information is for signing up your child for one of these performance music ensembles.

The Team Tressel Fitness Challenge is now available for the summer! This is a simple, fun way for families to stay active, build healthy habits, and spend meaningful time together during the summer break. Families can participate on their own schedule while working toward shared goals and by the end of the summer even win a medal! The challenge can be downloaded below.
