Staff attend La Cosecha DLI Conference in Albuquerque
This past week, GLOBE staff had the opportunity to go to the La Cosecha Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
This is the largest DLI conference in the United States, and staff were able to learn about best practices in DLI programming, instruction, as well as the history and legacy of DLI in the United States. This opportunity was paid for in portion through Title II funds from DeKalb County Schools. Staff are excited to bring this information back to their classrooms and share what they learned with other staff members.

The deadline to order items from Square 1 Art has been extended to Wednesday, December 3.
You can go online to view your child's artwork and purchase items. Click here to visit their search page to locate your child's artwork.
There has been a delay in getting the individual printed catalogs to students (an issue with delivery). Each catalogue is unique to the student and has their own artwork printed in it, so please keep a look out for this. However, you can also locate your child's artwork via this link.

Upper Campus notes
Deadline for High School Language Opt Out is December 1.
Please complete this form for each student to be changed to middle school language and opted out of high school credit. Changes to student permanent transcripts cannot be made after grades are posted at the end of each semester.
Let’s Restock the Food Pantry (through December 12)
The Impact Owls Community Service class will be leading a food donation drive to restock the Shallowford Food Pantry at Shallowford Presbyterian Church.
We encourage all Upper Campus parents, students, and staff to help others in our community overcome food insecurity by donating anything on the list (see image or download the list here). Your involvement not only helps stock the pantry for families in need during the holiday season but also demonstrates the spirit of generosity and community that defines our school. We look forward to having a food drive at Lower Campus in the Spring!
Students can come straight to the cafeteria during morning carpool to drop off anything from the list (download the list here). The Impact Owls will be there to sort the goods by grade level and keep up with the number of goods. The grade level that brings in the most food (percentage) will win a movie party, complete with a pajama day, cozy blankets, and maybe a couple of surprises.
Thank you for joining us in making a positive impact in our community!
