Windsong Elementary

Dear Windsong Ranch Elementary Families,

Looking for a fun outing this weekend? Join us at the Texas Legends game this evening, where our choir will perform “God Bless America” at 7:15 p.m. Click here to purchase discounted tickets and cheer on our talented students!

As we get closer to the end of 2025, that means that we'll be donating our lost and found items after school this Friday. If your student is missing anything, please stop by the cafeteria to take a look before items are cleared out.

Students will celebrate the season with a special winter party during their Specials time on Friday. More details are below. A huge thank-you to our wonderful room parents and volunteers for organizing these joyful events!

Our festive attire days are still going strong! Be sure to check the December to Remember calendar for next week’s dress-up themes.

Enjoy the weekend and we'll see you Monday morning!

Together we Prosper,

Michelle Qualls

Morning Arrival Reminder
For the safety of all students, please do not drop students off in the parking lot during morning arrival. If you need to walk your child into the building, you must park in a designated spot and escort them inside. Thank you for helping us keep our arrival safe and smooth for everyone!

The Gifted and Talented referral window is open now through Friday, January 16, 2026.

If you feel your child consistently demonstrates gifted learner characteristics and s/he has instructional needs that go beyond the rigor of the general classroom, please submit your referral form by January 16th, 2026. This form can be found on the Gifted & Talented page of the district website. Students on the referral list will be evaluated during the spring. Results will be shared in April for services to begin in August 2026

Our classroom winter parties will be held on December 19 during Specials, and we can’t wait to celebrate with our students! If you plan to attend your child’s class party, please be sure to sign up ahead of time (form will close on Tuesday) so we can prepare visitor badges. Remember, you must have your ID with you in person (no photos). Thank you for helping us keep things organized and enjoyable for everyone!

Celebrating our amazing technology hero, Lauren Burkett, as our Parapro of the Year! Lauren is always ready to jump in to solve tech needs with a smile. She works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. We are so grateful for her!

In her very first year as a speech therapist, Ms. Bellamy is already shining so bright! ⭐ She meets students where they are and inspires confidence and growth in each child she supports. Her students adore her, her colleagues admire her, and we are so proud to celebrate her as our Rising Star of the Year!

Guidance Lessons

Guidance will pick back up again in January. Click the Monthly Guidance Topics to see what's coming up.

Click here for Nurse Palmer's notes on sore throats and how to stop the spread of germs.

Our 5th graders are diving into TEKS 5.13B as they practice real-world research and presentation skills! Students had autonomy to choose their own topic, explore information through research, and work with a partner to review and revise their work. They also get to decide how they want to share their learning: whether through Google Docs, Slides, a handmade poster, or a digital poster. We love seeing their creativity, collaboration, and independence shine!
