MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL MILLER

What an incredible few weeks it has been at Salyards Middle School! Everywhere I turn, our Bengals continue to give us reasons to celebrate, and I could not be prouder of the amazing things our students are accomplishing!

First, a huge congratulations to both our 7B and 8B football teams, who finished their seasons as District Champions! What an incredible accomplishment for these young athletes and their coaches. But the celebrations don't stop on the football field. Our talented theater students brought home 1st Place in the UIL One-Act Play competition, earning top honors for their performance of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe! And if that wasn't enough, our Bengal Band and Orchestra had an outstanding showing at the recent TMEA Region 27 auditions. Out of 1148 students across the region auditioning for 342 spots, 17 of our Bengals earned places in the Region Bands, one earned District Band alternate honors, and five of our talented band musicians also earned the distinction of performing with the Region Orchestra! We also have 3 Orchestra students who earned the honors of performing with the best in the region!

Whether it's on the field, on the stage, in fine arts, or in our classrooms, our Bengals continue to demonstrate that excellence comes in many forms. These accomplishments are a testament not only to the hard work and dedication of our students, but also to the incredible teachers, coaches, directors, and families who support them every step of the way. Thank you for continuing to make Salyards such an incredible place to learn, grow, and succeed. I can't wait to see what our Bengals accomplish next!

Clear Backpack Policy

CFISD requires all high school and middle school students to use clear backpacks. Students participating in an extracurricular activity are permitted to carry non-transparent bags to store items pertaining to their particular activity (i.e. band, athletics, etc.). Upon entry into the school, all extracurricular activity bags must be stored in lockers or designated areas. All bags are subject to search. Additionally, the maximum size for non-transparent bags that students in grades 6-12 are permitted to carry during the school day, such as lunch kits, pencil bags and purses, will be 6” x 9”.

Personal Device Policy

A new Texas law (House Bill 1481) requires school districts to prohibit student use of all personal communication devices during the school day. Therefore, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is updating its personal communication device policy. Click here to read more about CFISD's Personal Device Policy.
