DMS Delivers

Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year
Dear DMS Families,
🌟 Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Open House yesterday! It was truly a pleasure to welcome so many of you—whether familiar faces or new ones—and share what we’ve been working on. The energy, curiosity, and thoughtful conversations made the event incredibly special. We’re grateful for your time, your questions, and your enthusiasm. We hope you left feeling inspired and more connected to our DMS Community.
This morning, we conducted a successful bus evacuation exercise in collaboration with the Dighton Police Department and Bloom Bus Company. We extend our sincere appreciation to all who supported and contributed to the smooth execution of this important safety initiative.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Cheryl Leandro, Principal cleandro@drregional.org

Medication and Health Office Reminders
If your child will need to take medication during the school day, please ensure the following steps are taken:
✅All required forms are completed
✅A doctor's note is submitted to the school health office.
✅Prescription medications must be provided in their original packaging, clearly labeled with the student’s name, the name of the medication, and the correct dosage.
🚫 Medications cannot be transported to school by students. We kindly ask that parents or guardians contact the school health office to arrange an appropriate time to drop off any necessary medications. You can reach her at dwilkins@drregional.org
We appreciate your partnership in supporting the health and well-being of all students.
⭐Health & Medical Updates⭐

SPORTS NEWS
An Important Announcement regarding DMS Sporting Events
We want to take this opportunity to remind families that DMS students are more than welcome to return to DMS to watch their friends play soccer/baseball/softball. However, they should take their regularly scheduled transportation home and return for the game if they would like to watch.
Games do not begin until 3:15/3:30 p.m., and school staff is not always after school to monitor students between the end of the day and the game. With that, it is important to note that school staff is also not always in attendance at soccer/softball/baseball games, so it is recommended that students come to the game with an adult.
Recap of First Home Game
The Lions soccer team clawed out a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Swansea yesterday.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, the Lions locked down defensively, with Mia Eed and Mack Latour anchoring the defense, and Jose Rodrigues and Caden Merriam turning in strong performances in goal.
Antonio Ferreira Carvalho brought the Lions within one with a long shot from a direct free kick.
And after some tidy link-up play, Logan Rebello buried a late equalizer.
Practice resumes Monday.
