Principal's Message
Dear Allenwood Families,
As summer is now upon us, I hope that all of our Dragons are enjoying a well-deserved break filled with relaxation, play, and quality time with family and friends. This season is a wonderful opportunity for our students to recharge and explore new interests.
To help prevent the “summer slide” and keep our students engaged academically, I encourage all Dragons to make reading a daily habit throughout the summer months. Even a few minutes of reading each day can make a significant difference in maintaining and building literacy skills. Additionally, dedicating some time to academic activities will help prepare them for a successful return to school in the fall.
A friendly reminder to our parents and guardians: Please take a moment to print your child’s report card before summer progresses. Many fall sports programs require a current report card for participation, and having a printed copy on hand will ensure you are prepared when registration time arrives.
I am pleased to share that our school building is currently undergoing important improvements through the recent referendum. These upgrades include enhancements to our HVAC system and updated bathroom facilities, which will contribute to a more comfortable and safe learning environment for everyone.
Lastly, please be on the lookout for virtual summer parent trainings. All sessions will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM via Zoom and presented by Nicole Musto, Rutgers clinician. Information regarding the trainings will be coming from the district.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and enjoyable summer!
Sincerely,
James Sterenczak
