Principal's Corner
Dear FamiLEE Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for your continued support in helping motivate our students to stay focused and work hard as we move toward the end of the school year. Your encouragement at home plays an important role in helping our students remain committed to finishing strong academically and personally.
I would also like to celebrate the outstanding work of the students involved in our production of Chicago: Teen Edition. The show is truly awesome and showcases the incredible talent of our students. We are proud of their dedication, creativity, and the many hours of preparation that went into such a wonderful performance.
In addition, we want to recognize our students participating in spring semester sports. These student athletes are continuing to work hard, demonstrate discipline, and represent Lee High School with pride as they finish their seasons.
As we move through the final weeks of the school year, please remember to check the school calendar each week for important upcoming events. This is especially important for our senior families, as there are several activities planned for the Class of 2026.
Thank you again for your continued support. Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Kitrise Torain
LHS Principal

New HCS Wireless Communication Device Policy: We want to inform you about an important update to our school policies in response to a new state law. On May 14, 2025, Governor Kay Ivey signed the FOCUS Act (Freeing Our Classrooms of Unnecessary Screens for Safety) into law. This law, which went into effect July 1, 2025, requires public schools across Alabama to limit student use of wireless communication devices during the instructional day to improve focus, safety, and engagement. In compliance with this law, Huntsville City Schools will implement a district-wide Wireless Communication Device (WCD) Policy beginning Fall 2025. Please click here to review the new HCS Wireless Communication Device policy.
Attendance
We want your child to be in school with us every day! Attendance is the most important factor in your child's academic success. We can't teach children who aren't at school. We have a goal of 95% this year. Please help us reach this goal by ensuring your child is here every day. If you child has to be out, please send excuses to LHS.attendance@hsv-k12.org.
