SALYARDS MIDDLE SCHOOL

What an incredible start to the 2026–2027 school year! We had the privilege of welcoming 1,385 amazing students through the doors of Salyards on the first day, and it has been wonderful seeing our hallways and classrooms come back to life. Staff are so excited to get to know each of our Bengals, build positive lasting relationships, and work alongside our families to help every student have a successful year.

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for helping us get the year off to such a great start. We are so excited for the start of fall sports, fine arts performances, and all of the events that make the middle school experience special.

Finally, don't forget that our Open House is Thursday, August 20th. We look forward to welcoming our families back to campus and giving you an opportunity to meet your student's teachers. Thank you, parents and guardians, for all that you do, and here's to a great rest of August!

Make sure to attend one of the parent meetings beginning either prior to the Open House at 4:30PM, or at 6:15PM. If you have students in multiple grades, it is okay to pick just one grade level meeting to attend.

CFISD requires all high school and middle school students to use clear backpacks. Students participating in an extracurricular activity are permitted to carry non-transparent bags to store items pertaining to their particular activity (i.e. band, athletics, etc.). Upon entry into the school, all extracurricular activity bags must be stored in lockers or designated areas. All bags are subject to search. Additionally, the maximum size for non-transparent bags that students in grades 6-12 are permitted to carry during the school day, such as lunch kits, pencil bags and purses, will be 6” x 9”.

A new Texas law (House Bill 1481) requires school districts to prohibit student use of all personal communication devices during the school day. Therefore, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is updating its personal communication device policy. Click here to read more about CFISD's Personal Device Policy.
