Welcome to the 2026-27 School Year
Welcome Back, Sand Creek Families!
I hope your summer has been filled with rest, adventure, and cherished time with loved ones. As we count down the final weeks of summer, I am thrilled to step into my third year as principal at Sand Creek Elementary. Reflecting on how much our community has grown together over the past two years fills me with immense pride and energy for the journey ahead.
Our dedicated team officially returns on Monday, August 31st, fully focused on preparing welcoming classrooms and meaningful learning experiences. Our core mission remains centered on creating an environment where every child feels secure, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential. By modeling and practicing our daily STAR habits—
Staying safe and present
Taking responsibility
Achieving goals and growing
Respecting everyone
...we empower each of our Sand Creek Stars to truly shine.
We know that student success is a team effort, and your partnership is vital to everything we do. We would love to have you actively engaged in our school community this year! Please mark your calendars for our family nights and parent-teacher conferences in October and February, consider joining us for PTO meetings, and be sure to follow our Facebook page for glimpses into our daily celebrations.
A new school year brings endless possibilities: fresh discoveries, lasting friendships, and milestones big and small. Thank you for your continued trust, support, and collaboration as we launch into another fantastic year together. I’m always here to connect, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, ideas, or thoughts.
Here’s to an incredible school year ahead!

Mrs. Wohlers, Principal
Welcome back, Sand Creek Stars!
Principal Wohlers here! I’m so excited to step into my third year leading Sand Creek Elementary. With 17 years in education (including 14 right here in Anoka-Hennepin), my heart is fully rooted in this wonderful community.
Outside the school walls, my husband Derek and I stay happily busy keeping up with our two kids, Victor (8) and Callee (4), and our two pups, Wiggins and Zola.
Here’s to another fantastic year of learning, growing, and shining bright together!
Mrs. Rice, Assistant Principal
I am so excited to introduce myself as Sand Creek's new Assistant Principal! This year marks my 24th year in education, including 20 years as a classroom teacher and the past three years as an Administrative Intern. My family and I live in Ramsey along the Rum River, where I love spending time with my husband, Mark, our two children, Emily (20) and Elijah (17), and our fun-loving 2-year-old dog, Bailey.
What makes joining the Sand Creek Stars especially meaningful is that this is the very elementary school I attended as a child! Coming back to the school that played such an important role in my own journey truly feels like coming home. I can't wait to get to know our students and families, learn alongside this amazing community, and give back to the place that helped shape me. Here's to a fantastic school year—I look forward to meeting you all!

Complete Back to School Forms Online
It’s time to get ready for the upcoming school year! Families may complete back-to-school forms online:
- Visit ahschools.us
- Select “login” from the menu.
- Select “family login.”
- Proceed to complete back-to-school forms for the 2026-27 school year.
It’s important that each family completes the verification process and the online back-to-school forms before the first day of school. Verification ensures that each student’s school has confirmed emergency contact information and releases for the safety of each student.
What’s in it for you: Even if families’ contact information has not changed, it’s important to log in to access a variety of other student information in the coming weeks, including:
- Class schedules and teacher assignments.
- Transportation information, if relevant.
- Receive additional educational benefits, discounts and reduced fees.
- High school students will not be able to enroll in fall activities until the back to school verification process is complete.
Anywhere, on-the-go: Families may complete the verification on their own time, whenever it’s convenient. If you prefer to utilize the ParentVUE mobile app to access your student’s information, please note that the app has been updated. Read more about downloading the updated version of ParentVUE.

It is our hope that all families are well versed in what is expected of our Sand Creek Stars and how parents and families can support a successful school experience for all of our students.
Teacher Assignments - Timeline
- Teacher assignments for grades 1–5 will be available to families in ParentVue as early as Monday, August 31, but no later than Tuesday, Sept 1.
- Kindergarten teacher assignments will be shared after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10.

Download new mobile apps to access student information for upcoming school year
The mobile app for Anoka-Hennepin Schools families and students has changed due to a software update. Families know the app as “ParentVUE,” students know the app as “StudentVUE,” and most district staff refer to it as Synergy.
The updated versions of the apps are available to use and access now. Some families may no longer be able to login using the current or discontinued legacy version of the apps.
Downloading the new app ensures you will be able to be involved at the start of the school year:
Get teacher assignments and class schedules.
Monitor academic progress, assignments and tests.
Submit student absences.
Pay fees for meals and/or activities.
View your student’s grades and report card.
Find Transportation information, if applicable.
