PFA Direct Donation
Our PFA Direct Donation is underway! Congratulations to Mrs. Meinhart's class for winning Class DJ. We can't wait to see their recess music playlist! Right now, we are only at 46% school participation. Westlake Hills is a fantastic school due to the gracious financial backing of the PFA. If you have not participated yet this year, please considering doing so here.
Birthday Celebrations
In the interest of student safety (severe allergies), maximizing classroom instruction, AND in order to align our school with district nutritional policies, do not bring in food for birthday celebrations. More information on policies regarding nutrition are available here. Outside food will not be distributed by teachers for birthday celebrations, regardless of ingredients.
If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday with a non-food item, please coordinate directly with the teacher. There are plenty of non-food birthday celebration ideas and options online.

New faces in new places!
School Psychologist
Please welcome Stephanie Rivera to our school community! She will be serving as the substitute School Psychologist while a colleague is out on leave. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue growing while supporting the students and staff at WHE. She will be on campus three days a week.
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, reading, trying out new restaurants, and baking!
Mental Health support
Please welcome Mrs. Allison Carl. She is so excited to be part of our wonderful community! This is her fifth year at CVUSD. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and for the past year and a half, she has overseen elementary mental health services. In this role, she provides clinical supervision for our elementary mental health associates and facilitates mental health and wellness meetings with most of our elementary school teams. She is excited to be able to continue in that role while also workign directly with our students! Outside of work, Mrs. Carl enjoys her time with family including her husband and three school aged daughters.
Bilingual Facilitator
Please welcome Mrs. Daryl Miller, our new bilingual facilitator on campus.
She has been with CVUSD for 12 years – Three as a bilingual paraeducator at Conejo & Madrona and nine in the DEC supporting multilingual learners districtwide.
Mrs. Miller been speaking Spanish since she was 9 years old when her family lived in Mexico City for three years. She also lived in Honduras for 18 months as a missionary for my church. Outside of work, Mrs. Miller enjoys time traveling with her family and reading books!

Goodbyes at the Gate
Stay Informed: Mobile Devices Policy Update for the 2025-2026 School Year
The Conejo Valley Unified School District Board of Education recently approved an updated version of CVUSD Board Policy 5131.8 “Mobile Communication Devices.”
For all CVUSD Students in Grades TK-8:
- Mobile communication devices shall be turned off and/or on silent mode and put away during instructional time.
- Students in grades Preschool through 8th grade shall not use cell phones, smart watches, pagers, or other mobile communication devices on campus during instructional and non-instructional time (e.g. recess, passing periods, nutrition, lunch).
Chromebook Protection
It is that time of year again where we encourage Chromebook Accidential Protection plan from CVUSD. More information is available here. Without Accidental Damage Protection, the student’s legal parent/guardian is responsible for all costs associated with the repair or replacement of the device due to accidental damage, or theft. The student’s legal parent/guardian agrees to reimburse the District for the cost of the students Chromebook within 30 days of reporting damage, theft, or any other loss.
Information from our health office
Remember that all student medications, including over the counter medicine, requires a current doctor's form for the 25-26 school year with specific information. Our health clerk Ms. Lucero Zuniga would be happy to assist with any specific questions at lzunigarojas@conejousd.org
For example, if a student comes to school with a medical device such as crutches/sling/splint/brace without a medical document, the school has the responsibility to seek clarity from the parent and health care provider.

Front office
We continue to be diligent and intentional with our efforts to increase student safety. Please utilize our new front office "doorbell" to communicate your identification and purpose for coming onto campus when prompted by office staff. Two way communication will be available once the button is pressed.
Our "raptor" school safety software will continue to be utilized upon parent/visitor entrance. When coming onto campus, please have your state licensed identification (license) ready. This helps ensure student safety at all times.Wildcat Pride
