This week, our teachers began livestreaming their classes. There is no doubt that the pandemic has caused an increase in absenteeism due to quarantining. To help those students who are unable to be in the classroom, live, in the short term, livestreaming of the classes may be accessed through a students' Google Classroom account. This is not remote instruction as the teachers are not directly teaching the students who are not physically in the classroom. Rather, this is a way for a student to see and listen to what is happening in their class while they are away. When students do this, and combine it with accessing the relevant materials posted in Google Classroom, the school district hopes students are better prepared to return to class when their quarantine or other reason for absence ends. Of course, if our Covid cases get high enough, the school district could shift to remote instruction where all students are taught while they stay home, but the Burgettstown Area School District is not currently in remote instruction mode. If you are willing to voluntarily advise the District whether your child(ren) is/are fully vaccinated and boosted (where possible) the School Nurses and Administration will be able to more effectively and more timely deal with the implications (contact tracing, potential quarantine, etc.) should a student or staff member display symptoms and/or test positive for Covid 19/the variant. We ask that you consider voluntarily providing a copy of your child's vaccine card, or submitting your child(ren)'s vaccination status by clicking HERE. Please be assured that this information will in all other respects be kept confidential. By completing this form, you are voluntarily providing this information. Please submit a separate form for each of your children.

UPMC's vaccine clinic on January 3rd was a great success. The follow-up clinic, for those who received their first dose on January 3rd need their second dose, as well as anyone needing either a first dose, or a booster, is scheduled for January 24th in the BAEC from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM. This clinic is for all eligible individuals. You do not have to be a student to receive a vaccine. NOTE: Burgettstown Area School District does not require vaccines and this clinic should not be interpreted as the school district doing so. We are simply providing space for UPMC to provide this service for our school district. Click HERE if you wish to schedule an appointment. Scheduling ahead of time is not mandatory.
