Trailblazer Times

Hello Trailblazer Families,
HAPPY SNOW DAY! We hope this message finds you well and that your winter break was filled with joy, warmth, and cherished moments with loved ones. As we usher in the new year, we're excited to welcome our students back to Rollins Elementary School for what promises to be an amazing continuation of the academic year!
Here's a brief recap of the winter break, and a glimpse into the exciting plans we have in store:
Winter Break Recap: We trust that the winter break provided a much-needed opportunity for rest and rejuvenation. Whether your family celebrated traditions, traveled, or simply enjoyed quality time together, we hope the break was both memorable and refreshing.
Highlights from Winter Activities: Our school had some fantastic winter activities before the break, including Caroling on the Creek for our Honor Choir, caroling in the Westbrook neighborhood for fifth grade, Fourth Grade Performance and Encore Night, Parents Night Out, our End of the Semester Assembly, and our holiday classroom parties. It was heartwarming to see the spirit of community and joy radiating through our school during these events.
Upcoming Events and Important Dates: As we dive into the new year, there are several exciting events and activities planned. Mark your calendars for upcoming dates such as Picture Retakes and Class Pictures on January 9th, No School on January 15th to observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, MAP Testing for 1-2 January 18th and 19th, MAP Testing for Kindergarten January 22nd and 23rd, Trailblazer House Assembly January 26th, and No School February 2nd for teachers to have professional Development. We encourage you to stay engaged and involved in your child's educational journey.
Winter Weather Reminders: With winter still upon us, please ensure that your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the weather. Coats, hats, and gloves will help keep them comfortable during outdoor activities.
Parent-Teacher Communication: Our commitment to open communication remains strong. If you have any questions, concerns, or if you'd like to discuss your child's progress, our teachers and staff are here for you. Feel free to reach out via email, phone, or by scheduling a meeting with your child's teacher. Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences are March 11th-15th.
Gratitude for Your Support: We want to express our gratitude for your continued support. The partnership between our school and our parents is instrumental in creating a positive and enriching learning environment for our students.
As we embark on this new chapter together, we're filled with enthusiasm and anticipation for the growth and achievements that lie ahead. Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your child.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful start to the new year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Johnson
