Traffic and Safety Information
Please follow all of CCA's traffic rules, as they are designed to keep our students safe!
Nametags should be visible during pick up - including Middle School families. This helps ensure we can keep the carline moving quickly by calling students up as you approach.
If you park in the neighborhood and walk your child to school, you must use the designated crosswalk at the light on Dayton and Caley or at the bottom of the hill at Dayton and Elmira. A staff member will be there to help you cross safely.
Do not block the crosswalk with your vehicle. We need the crosswalk to be clear for our crossing guards to assist students and families.
Please see our website for additional Traffic information.
Morning Enrichment
All CCA students are invited to attend an open enrichment session with Ms. Redmond in room 125 on weekday mornings. Students have free choice of a variety of activities, including Dash and Dot robots, creating with recycled materials, watercolor painting, and working with iPad apps.
To attend, students must first get permission from their homeroom teacher. Enrichment will be available after you have checked in with them, from 7:20 to 7:55 AM.
"Sketch" Canvas and Cupcakes with Mrs. Peterson
Open to 3rd - 8th Grade Students
September 18, 2025 - 5:00 PM - 7:15 PM
$25 per student
Together we will invent and paint our own monsters! Unlike the movie “Sketch,” ours will not come to life and terrorize a town! Each student will paint a canvas as well as decorate one monster cookie to enjoy and one to take home.
Library Volunteers Needed
Get Involved: Volunteer in the School Library!
Help us keep our library in great shape for all students! We're seeking volunteers for the upcoming school year to assist with book repair and shelving.
Starting in September, you can join us during these times:
Book Repair: Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Shelving: Monday and Friday afternoons, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Please note: Volunteers for shelving should have knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System.
Your time and effort make a huge difference! If you're interested, please reach out to our librarian, Anita Freimuth, to sign up.
We are committed to keeping our community well-informed. Please read these important updates from our Board of Directors Meeting on August 19. Highlights include an update on the CCSD Bond Construction project, committee updates and more! We encourage you to read through the summary to stay up-to-date on our progress and plans.
Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Updates
Fly Like an Eagle Day
Fly Like an Eagle Day is Friday!

Extended Tutorial
Open to 5th - 8th Grade
In the Extended Tutorial, Middle School students will be able to work on homework or projects in a structured environment with the support of Mr. Gaulden, our 7th and 8th grade Writing teacher. Students will not only complete work, but practice organization and self-advocacy skills.
In addition to completing homework, students will also have a chance to practice their reading or math skills with individualized i-Ready lessons, based on their August 2025 i-Ready Assessment.
If your child is one or more grade level below what is expected based on i-Ready, then we would strongly encourage you to sign up for the Extended Tutorial.
Mr. Gaulden will offer direct support for English Language Arts while also working with the rest of the Middle School team in order to understand the expectations for the assignments in each class so that he can support all students in all classes.
Extended Tutorial will take place on Mondays until 4:45pm beginning on September 15. Please be ready to pick up your student no later than 4:45 in the Back Lot. The cost to join Extended Tutorial is $60. If cost is an issue, please do not allow that to prevent your student from receiving this support. Instead, reach out to Dakota Mahan or Eric Gaulden.
Sign-ups will close on Friday, September 12.
