DMS Delivers

The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District has worked to build partnerships with local police and fire departments. Our schools have expanded our connections with the Dighton Police Department in that we have School Resource Officers, SRO Hathaway and SRO Bennett, who are in our schools daily along with our new comfort dog, Oakie. Today, with the help of one of DMS’ very own, Dana Rose, we are excited to host this event to expand our relationship to the Massachusetts State Police. Not only is this safety presentation a highly engaging, informational, and interactive experience for our students, but this also serves as a career exploration opportunity. We are looking forward to hosting this event yearly. On behalf of Dighton Middle School, we want to thank Superintendent Runey, Assistant Superintendent Souza, Dighton Police Chief Shawn Cronin and Dighton Fire Chief Christopher Maguy, along with Jesse Walker and Corey Rose from MA State Police along with all other attendees for supporting us in making today a reality. ~Mrs. McGourty, DMS Assistant Principal

Our Unified Arts team worked together to ensure we honored those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Mrs. Hayden and Mr. Collard worked collaboratively on a Memorial Day project in which students from all grades hand-made beautiful poppies! We placed them in the Dighton Veteran Cemetary. Be on the look out for a special social media tribute to our fallen soldiers from our DMS 7th and 8th grade band students courtesy of Mr. Brundage and Mr. Dressel!

Do you have a tween entering middle school grades 6-8 this September? Looking for something fun to do? Good news! We have a fun summer camp at Dighton Rehoboth High School running August 7th -11th. There are 7 CTE camps: Automotive, Advanced Manufacturing, Carpentry, Early Childhood, Engineering Drafting & Design, Marketing, Media Specialist (TV Production) and also Sports and Visual Arts camp. Camp runs from 8 AM to 12 PM. The cost is $150 for the week. Payment may be made by check to DRRHS CTE and mailed to Dighton Rehoboth Regional High School, 2700 Regional Road North Dighton, Ma. 02764 Attn: Tracy Dishon.

• Extra SNAP benefits this spring: Extra COVID Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, known as SNAP Emergency Allotments, were created during the pandemic to help individuals and families buy food. Federal action ended the extra COVID SNAP benefits on March 2, but Massachusetts is providing extra SNAP benefits at the beginning of April, May, and June. District and school leaders can encourage households to visit Mass.gov/ExtraCOVIDSNAP for more information, and the Department of Transitional Assistance also has outreach materials available in 16 languages.
