We are so grateful for our wonderful EC–5th grade families and the joy your children bring to our school each day. As we head into winter break, we hope you enjoy special moments with those close to you, make cozy memories together and find time to rest. Our teachers will also be taking time to rest during the break and will not be responding to emails until January 5th. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year!

Child Sexual Abuse Prevention lessons will begin soon at school. Illinois Public Act 097-­1147, requires public schools to provide child sexual abuse prevention education for children in pre­kindergarten through twelfth grades. Age­-appropriate instruction helps students recognize unsafe situations, keep themselves safe, and understand how to respond to unsafe situations. School social workers work with each grade level to provide age-­appropriate information on topics such as safe versus unsafe touching, the touching rule, secrets, and reporting.

If you choose to opt your child out of the presentation, please share the form with Mrs. Bingaman. The K-5 lessons will be in December, and the Early Childhood lessons will be in January. Please click here to see when K-5 presentations are scheduled.

Winter is the time of year when we notice cases of lice in our school community. While lice are a common occurrence and not a health hazard, it’s important to remain vigilant.

Please take a moment to read this INFORMATIONAL LETTER on HEAD LICE which includes helpful information about identifying and preventing the spread of lice.
